Captain Murphy aka Flying Lotus's twisted MC Doppleganger released his first official video for The Killing Joke off the Duality mixtape that dropped late last year. The video features a ghostly hooded figure with crazy hypno-eyes stalking a girl in the woods. The video was shot and created by Suns (Steve Cutler // Mark Corless) as a fan video and flylo liked it so much he made it the official version.

Last November at a Low End Theory event, Flying Lotus unmasked his alias, Captain Murphy and the released album Duality , showing that the scope of his work is not limited to experimental electronic music, and his foundation lies within hip hop. Duality  used sample from movies, particularly Dark Knight .  Here with the first video to accompany a track, " The Killing Joke, " if anything, is trippy and haunting, just as his alter-ego [...]

In his new video for "The Killing Joke", Captain Murphy / Flying Lotus reverts back to his enigmatic beginnings, to a time when his identity was entirely speculation. Immersed in a dark, creepy atmosphere and tone, the video focuses on a white-eyed hooded figure interspersed with random footage. Flying Lotus a.k.a. Captain Murphy releases his latest joint sounding like Tyler The Creator. Got it? Me neither. Cool video though.

Captain Murphy is the alternate moniker of Flying Lotus, a Californian who has both performed and produced tracks with Earl Sweatshirt. (We first heard from Captain Murphy on a Flying Lotus-produced collaboration with Sweatshirt for Adult Swim.) Now, here's a new video from Murphy, "The Killing Joke", which finds his verses wandering between dark, delicate female vox. It comes from the Duality mixtape he released last year. Finally, something new and fresh that I had to share with you. Captain Murphy , the alter rap ego to Flying Lotus , released the official video for "Killing Joke." This is one of the standout tracks off his mixtape Duality , which you should download if you haven't yet. Now, even though Flying Lotus relieved this was him, he still keeps the mysterious look to the visual with the mask, hooded characters, fires, skeletons, and a dark atmosphere. Watch below. Fresh? Leave it to Captain Murphy / Flying Lotus to release a creepy, unsettling set of visuals for the equally dark "The Killing Joke." Featuring a hooded figure with bejeweled lips that move around its face and shots of skulls, things lit on fire, and a mysterious woman (amongst many other random things), it's the perfect accompaniment to the track. Last year, Flying Lotus made a sizable impact on the hip-hop world when he debuted his rapper alias, Captain Murphy . And prior to the release of his debut,  Duality , he released the movie sample-heavy/narrative-focused "The Killing Joke". So now that the album is about to get pressed to vinyl, it's only right that we return to one of its first single for the Captain's new video. Last week, we dropped the not-so-shocking news that Captain Murphy was indeed Flying Lotus , and now some footage from his debut Los Angeles concert has surfaced. The footage captured highlights an surprise appearance from Earl Sweatshirt , who performed the song " Between Friends " alongside the Captain. Yeah, yeah, so we already know that Captain Murphy is actually Flying Lotus, a revelation that was confirmed at a show at Los Angeles' Low End Theory last week. But fan-shot videos have been trickling in since then, and we felt it was necessary to share some of them with y'all.
