After six long years since 2006's The Greatest , we are finally getting an album of new material from Cat Power . The follow-up, Sun , was performed and produced by Chan Marshall in various locations including a studio she built in Malibu. It will be released on September 4th through Matador . Recently we heard Cat Power was doing some one off gigs in Hawaii and just now she's on the web posting some new material. Check out "King Rides By" above featuring Manny Pacquiao The track is raise funds for charity.  You can download the new track ' King Rides By ' from the video and help the cause. All proceeds go to Festival of Children Foundation & The Ali Forney Center .

Check out these new videos that Cat Power debuted in San Francisco. Looks like she's trying to make jazz, folk and R&B play nice with one another. This one's my favorite of the three. There are two more over at Spin.

It looks like Chan Marshall is reviving Cat Power. This new song was premiered at the Fillmore over the weekend. according to Prefix Mag , she played the song in between some of her hits. There is painfully limited info about the track, no name, no word of a new album nothing. Sit back, light a cigarette and enjoy the glassy, minimal glory of Cat Power. E.
