If you live in New York, Cat Power 's music video for "Manhattan" may warm your heart. Even for those of us in L.A., the clip directed by Chan Marshall and Greg Hunt (who also helped direct "Cherokee" ) featuring Marshall walking the streets and subway may prompt a visit to the Big Apple. And for those of you who may not care in the slightest about the East Coast, you can at least appreciate a pretty montage of an artist dedicating a song to her years as a Lower East Side staple during the '90s. Cat Power's latest video is for the lovely single "Manhattan" off her dynamite 2012 release, Sun . The singer travels through the big apple on (what I guess is) a double-decker bus in awe of the buildings and everything around her that's 'so New York'. The delicate song has a humble and nostalgic air, and makes for a touching lullaby to the city. As a homegrown New Yorker, I really love the view from Cat Power's eyes.

As a New York City resident, sometimes I lose perspective and need to be reminded that I live in the greatest city on Earth. So I'd like to personally thank Chan Marshall for deciding to make a music video for Manhattan, a track that appeared on Cat Power's 20122s release Sun . The video is Ms. Marshall's love letter to the Big Apple, and follows the former East Village resident as  as she traverses the city, across bridges, in subway stations, bars and bodegas, thumbing through records and aimlessly wandering city streets from [...]

Chan Marshall herself, aka Cat Power , and Greg Hunt directed the new video for Sun cut "Manhattan." The video takes you through floats through New York as Marshall dances and enjoys the city's offerings. It is not a mind-blowing concept, but gives you some great imagery and allows Marshall's captivating personality flow. Watch below.
