With the festival season around the corner and with all the major festivals releasing their line-ups I'll be regularly posting recommendations on who to see at these festivals. First up ...... Vantastival Here's the full line-up: http://www.vantastival.com/ DAMIEN DEMPSEY - AND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR [...]

Today we bring to you Cfit and their album Triage. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland - it's such an American thing to put "small place, large place", you guys know where Dublin is don't you? So this band have been compared to Interpol and The National. Well, while they may have some similarities I probably wouldn't put them in that same bracket as those two. Their sound is one with great depth, this comes from all areas of the seven piece including the mix of male and female lead vocals. The whole album is free to download and I recommend you [...]
Cfit, or “Controlled flight into terrain,” the leading cause of airplane accidents involving loss of life, is also the name of a 7-piece rock group from Dublin, Ireland. The appropriately named debut album, Triage, was recently called “the best thing I’ve heard from an Irish band in a long time” by these cool dudes. Cfit, [...]

Cfit is from Ireland and I like them. Maybe if they ever come to Phoenix we can hang out, maybe a BBQ or something fun like that. It probably won't be awkward in any way, I am sure they will love my Golden Retriever, his name is Tucker and he is a real good dog that I like very much. It won't be weird at ALL! I PROMISE! Plausible Deniability by Cfit

Cfit is a band from Dublin, Ireland and judging by the likes of what I've heard so far, they excell in creating quiet, lush and melancholy rock music that frankly, is rather good. This track - Don't Sweat The Small Shit has been around for awhile and it's one of those tracks that makes you want to buy a xylophone/Glockenspiel. The track has got a quiet power to it and coupled with lovely harmonies, is a great candidate for a song to play on a rainy day. Check it out. The [...]

Fresh from nearly a fortnight in the UK the blog is back on track. I've got a few albums to review, going to Knockanstockan this weekend and I'm gonna try to keep expressing the love I have for great Irish music on this blog. Here's a few things that are exciting me these days; ..... And They're Back ..... take a bow The Blue Choir, The Chapters and Cocophone. It's been nice finding out about the return of some of this blogs favourite artists; The Blue Choir [...]

Fantastic Irish electro-rockers Cfit have just unleashed their new video, for 'The Static' taken from excellent album Triage . It was directed, shot and painstakingly edited down from thousands of individual photographs by the apparently tireless Jamie Tanner. Not only have they released the video, but they are also giving the album away for free here: http://www.facebook.com/Cfitmu sic/app_208195102528120 In addition, Cfit play a free gig at the Mercantile in Dublin on August 2nd, with support from Junah.

Dublin folk band 'Junah' are back with a new EP entitled 'On Waves' which is launched in The Grand Social on April 14th! 'On Waves' proves to me that Junah are one of Ireland's best bands! Junah have been around for ages and ages and are still at the point of releasing singles and EPs. Does this mean they'll never make it as a successful band? It just means that they are perfectionists and want to release music which [...]

Swear I'm Not Paul's Top 30 Irish Albums of 2011.
Initially a solo project for Noel Duplaa, Cfit have developed from a one man band to a trio and now a five piece, with all three incarnations delivering a lush collection of woozy, melancholic anthems. How did you all meet? As a lifelong lover of doing things backwards, I recorded a weird complicated multi-instrumental album without any thought of how to play it live. Then when the time came to play it live I was incredibly lucky in managing to know a bunch of talented musicians who I promptly chloroformed. [...]
Biggles Flys Again, cfit, The Holy Roman Army, the Last Days of 1984, and Leaflog all pick their favourite albums of 2011.

'Triage' is an album from ex Tidal District man Noel Duplaa (and friends) as Cfit and is the best thing I've heard from an Irish band in a long time. It may not not be something for searchers of the immediate hit but boy does it provide value at the rerun stage. The textures are electronic in nature but it's the male/female voices that resonate the most. In the battle for best song the epic 'Plausible Deniability' (see the goosebump generating video below) is just ousted by 'Dig Up' with Duplaa and Jennifer Roche creating a multifaceted work that hints [...]

The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock are being talked about in high regard as they have begun gigging again in the run up to the release of the band's second album. Here's my favourite track from the self-titled debut. In Country Dark by The Spook of The Thirteenth Lock In fact for just a fiver you can see the band with 8 other superb bands in Whelans this Saturday in the Hefty Fest: [...]
Cfit's debut album is a decent attempt, but is often too ambitious for its own good.
Cfit are launching their debut album this Friday night.
On those days when the rain incinerates all it touches, we'll just find a way to walk between the raindrops. Cfit's debut single 'Don't Sweat The Small Shit' sounds like Florence & The Machine's 'Cosmic Love'. The song sounds like an indie-pop version perhaps, with hints of electronic production, glockenspiel and dominant harmonies. Now that's out of the way, It's a very good debut single all the same. Cfit features Noel Duplaa (ex Tidal District), vocalist Jennifer Roche, bassist Shane DeLier, violinist Gráinne Dunne and drummer Phil [...]
