Toronto - Originally when I skimmed through Metronomy album "Nights Out", I was all about the tune "Heartbreaker" and "A Thing for Me", but lately I've been pretty obsessive over their song Radio Ladio. I love the hip hoppy synth sounds in this tune. Their video is a visual treat, if not a bit weird. Toronto - It's so hard to find good remixes these days. Everyone is a dj. Everyone is a remixer. Few do it right. Here's to IAMXL for making La Roux's single Bulletproof rather danceable. Check it out. La Roux plays the guvernment October 23rd. Related posts: Friday Night Dance Party - Simian Mobile Disco - Audacity of Huge Toronto - It's been a few years since Simian... Toronto - I guess everyone has had their say on Jacko biting it the other day. What a weird, weird day. First Farrah Fawcett dies, then Michael Jackson, then the NBA draft. What's with all these two bit celebrities giving their opinions and sentiments? I think it's just their chance to grab a lil publicity. Corey Fieldman showed up somewhere! Yay. Anyways, it goes without saying that Michael Jackson changed the face of music with his music. I'll let others dissect and analyze whatever his legacy is, but we all know he was important and I think his [...]

Toronto - It's been a few years since Simian Mobile Disco's debut "Attack Decay Sustain Release" rocked dance floor everywhere. The boys from England are back with a kick ass leadoff single called "Audacity of Huge" off their upcoming sophomore effort "Temporary Pleasure" out on August 17th. Featuring Chris Keating of Yeasayer, the single moves along at a robotic pace, almost Daft Punk esque sound. Whatever it is, this song is going to be everywhere. If it isn't already. Toronto - Before Perez Hilton's party at SXSW all I thought about this band was their stupid band name, and that was enough for me to not pay any attention to them. However, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head proved to be a nice indie-electronic-party pop band similar to the likes of Matt and Kim, CSS and others. It's hard to classify these guys, so I just say electro-party-pop. They provide a heavy dose of synth and neon colours and also have a puma on their album cover. Worth checking out. [...]

Toronto - Friday Night Dance Party time! This is a new weekly segment that may or may not run for a long time. Hopefully the tune will get your weekend off right! PNAU is an Australian dance duo, consisting of Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes. Nick Littlemore is also part of my beloved Empire of the Sun. They have released various albums in Australia over the past few years and yea, they are all pretty good dance music based on my early listenings. The song I've been listening to a lot lately is a tune [...]
