
According to the New York Times , Spin Magazine has parted ways with its longtime editor Doug Brod , as well as its publisher Malcolm Campbell . Spin has made this change despite a more than 20% increase in advertising revenue during the first quarter of 2011. Still, the McEnvoy group, who purchased the magazine in 2006, felt a change needed to be made. The NYT speculates that the change has to do with Spin establishing itself as a magazine that breaks independent artists over mainstream stars. [...]
