Carpinteria, California emo outfit Souvenirs generated a healthy hometown groundswell with the September 2011 release of their debut EP, Sadder Days . Retro noise outfit Dirty Beaches , the performing/recording moniker of Alex Zhang Hungtai, has released a live recording of "Lone Runner" as part of the compilation Soungs Kompf , which arrives May 29th via Soungs Records. Recorded at Chicago's Empty Bottle last September, this version stretches the original to even more brutal lengths, with eerie saxophone curls and a fire-in-the-pulpit, expletive-laden sermon from Hungtai. On June 5th, CocoRosie will release a brand new 73 single through Touch and Go Records. You've already heard the A-Side, "We Are on Fire" . Now, rtve.es is streaming the B-Side, "Tearz for Animals", which features Antony Hegarty (via Disco Naivete ). Both tracks were recorded with TV on the Radio's David Sitek in Los Angeles this past Winter.

Kylie Minogue' s not done celebrating yet. Having already marked her 25th year in the music biz with two unique tours , a live CD/DVD , and a greatest hits collection , the British pop superstar has now released a brand new single. Seattle electro-pop outfit Beat Connection will release their debut LP, The Palace Garden , on June 19th via Moshi Moshi/Tender Age.
