Last week I returned to the present with only a few throwbacks to the 90s toward the end of the show. The split digital/vinyl show featured new tracks from Sleeping Bag, The Babies, Sweater Girls, Gospel Claws, Suturee and Thunder Power. Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 I sat at Toronto's Massey Hall in anticipation of what I knew would be an amazing show. With Massey Hall undoubtedly being my favourite venue for its wonderful acoustics, I expected the pairing to be magical. Toni Basil was a 38-year-old singer/actress in Los Angeles in the early '80s when a local music scout counseled her to take one more shot at recording a hit for young pop music fans.
