Winston-Salem took major pride in Purple for the past week. It had nothing to do with the royals in town or spiritual fullfilment but everything to do with eating habits. A paint the town purple campaign was sponsored by the Novant Health Maya Angelou Woman's Health and Wellness Center. The goal of this campaign was to raise awareness about the obesity issues in the area. The wellness center intended to promote participation and discourse around ways to solve the obesity challenge that faced the area. I'm not really sure what to think about what all is going on in Phoenix's latest video for "Entertainment". It looks like a low-budget Chinese soap-opera. I'm actually not sure they shot any of the footage specifically for the video. Either way, the song is great. Enjoy and watch below.

The first single from The Beijing Gang, London producer and composer Chris Bemand 's new act, Dongdan echoes Damon Albarn's Monkey-business from a few years ago. Recorded in-country with local musicians, it blends classical Chinese instruments and lyrics with dubby electronic beats. Yesterday marked the end of the Year of the Rabbit and the beginning of the Year of the Dragon according to Chinese Astrology. Shanghai China's Rainbow Danger Club recently released an entirely free eight-song effort in late 2010 called The New Atlantis EP - available at the Bandcamp link provided. The four-piece had the distinction in December to have today's featured track picked as 'Best Song of 20102 by City Weekend, at their equivalent of the 'Grammys' in Shanghai.
