Rihanna With just four more days until the launch of her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna is giving fans a peek inside of tour rehearsals. In a new clip, the Grammy-winning pop goddess twerks it up something fierce as she learns some "stripper/hood" choreography for her new single, "Pour It Up." Rihanna kicks off the North American leg of the Diamonds World Tour on March 8 in Buffalo, NY then continues to places like Baltimore, MD (March 12), Chicago, IL (March 22), Los Angeles, CA (April 8), Ft.
The best thing about the new Weird Dreams album is the bonus disc that comes with copies bought at Rough Trade. Those older, first-time-on-CD tracks have an instant attraction that the album can’t manage, despite multiple plays. The touchstones of the Weird Dreams sound are Smithsian chiming 80s guitars and Beach Boys harmonies but ‘Choreography’ only lives up its influences intermittently. The ching and chime of ‘Summer Black’ is dangerously catchy while ‘666.66’ is angular and poppy by turns and the soaring, sunshine pop harmonies of ‘Hurts So Bad’ are outstanding. ‘Vague Hotel’ has a great [...]
Weird Dreams - Choreography By Richard Wink Boredom exists. You don’t usually expect it to slowly fondle with your consciousness during a relaxing evening Sunday spent listening to music, but sure enough, it came along and boy did it make me yawn. Choreography is one of the dullest albums I’ve ever listened to. Now for the about turn. I’m actually going to praise this album, because it serves a purpose, it soundtracks a day in the life, [...]
London quartet Weird Dreams’ debut album, Choreography , is jammed full of the kind of psych pop you might expect to hear emanating from a ramshackle hut on the edge of LA, populated by a Doors tribute act, Brian Wilson, a man who could either be a scared hitch-hiker or a twitching local shaman, and a several sheets of acid. And it’s quite good because of it. Opening track, Vague Hotel , is pretty straightforward. Nice, catchy, not unremarkable. For us, the deeper the album goes the more it starts to move us – each track [...]
Psych poppers Weird Dreams released their debut EP back in 2010 featuring the catchy charmer 'Little Girl'. My Name Is Music - Computer Game , from Super Acceleration , out on 3 May on Las Vegas Records Choreographies really are the new forests when it comes to music video content popularity. Although actually in this case, it is more of an aerobics class, and somehow, though I don’t know the exact connection, it reminded me of the Callanetics videos my mother used to watch in the early 90s, which had the most beautiful leotards.

Weird Dreams ’ debut album, Choreography , is one of those records I was late to discover. After one spin you get the impression they’ve been playing together for twenty years as their songwriting and melodic timing are absolutely perfect, especially if dig 60’s pop. Yesterday, we were treated to “House of Secrets”, taken from the band’s forthcoming split seven-inch single with Girls Names. The single will be co-released by Slumberland and Tough Love on June 25.
