It was clear even before Friday night's performance of Michael Jackson's Cirque Du Soleil spectacular, The IMMORTAL World Tour (playing three nights at LA's Staples Center) began that this would be a night dedicated to celebrating the glory of Michael's legacy: we saw so many little kids in fedoras moonwalking in the lobby to even count. And Jackson's presence, whether seen on screen as a little boy or in footage from his legendary videos, consistently drew an ecstatic response from the crowd. As a memorial to the King Of Pop, the show totally worked; as a Cirque Du [...]

Ten Best Albums of 2011 So, the thing with my list this year is that I've been fortunate enough to have either shared a stage, been on a movie soundtrack together, recorded an album with, spent many quality years as close friends, or at the very least, created some memories over some good times with all but two of the bands represented here. However, none of these disclosures swayed my opinion in naming their recordings as the best to come out this year, they're just all that damn good, and I just happen to know them. [...]
During the FA Cup final, every year, my Dad would holler "the band! show us the band!" as the screen cut from the half-time entertainment to Hill, Moore, or whoever yakkitying away about the sport just shown. Were he to be around for the superbowl next month , he'd probably be yelling "the pundits! In God's name, bring on the pundits!" as Madonna and Cirque Du Soleil top up their earnings for the current tax year. -- Visit No Rock & Roll Fun to comment, complain and kvetch

The Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil spectacular, The IMMORTAL World Tour , officially opened yesterday in Montreal. Over 13,000 fans joined the Jackson family for the premiere tribute to the King Of Pop. While these recently released pics of the $60 million production reveal a dancing Bubbles, he sadly was not portrayed by a real chimp as we had originally predicted . Check out the mind-blowing homage to the Gloved One, that is unless you already nabbed tickets one of the stops on the 47 city North American tour and want to be surprised. [via [...]

Remember when The Beatles put out Love and then Cirque du Soleil took it on a world tour performing weird acrobatics and other spectacles to revamped and remixed versions of the classics? Well, the trick is set to be repeated with Michael Jackson. IMMORTAL is being touted as a new Michael Jackson album (his second posthumous album following Michael ) and while it doesn't feature any songs that we haven't heard it does feature takes that we haven't heard. Because, you know, maybe he decided not to use the best [...]

The Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil spectacular — aka The Immortal World Tour — premieres this Monday October 2 in Montreal, and it will undoubtedly be one hot ticket for fans of the late singer's music. (Which, last we checked, is just about everyone.) The show features over 60 of the King Of Pop's songs, played by a live band backing Jackson's recorded vocals. "With every aspect of this show we've pushed the envelope," says the tour's director Jamie King. "Costumes, music, going above and beyond what Michael was as a star and really putting it on [...]

Two weekends ago I headed to Las Vegas with one purpose. No, it was not to hit it big gambling, although that would have improved my life situation considerably. Over four years after its opening, I finally made it to Love, a Cirque Du Soleil production based solely on Beatles music. Love premiered in 2006 [...]

I really don't care much for the alternative-pop-punk band, Plain White T's. In fact, I really dislike their two biggest hits "Hey There Delilah" and "1,2,3,43. On the contrary however, there latest album, Wonders of the Younger, is pretty good considering how the rest of their albums have been forgettable. This album has a [...]

While IHEARTCOMIX predominantly focuses on music, we also like to feature other art forms from time to time—that is, when they are epic. Today's special treat is the trailer for a new kind of live show—a mix of video, projection, lighting, animation, lasers, street dance, and, of course, an incredible electro soundtrack. Created by and staring starring a cast of Cirque du Soleil artists, SECRET SHOW is the kind of performance that IHEARTCOMIX listeners could get high on. No [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Releases Even after his untimely death last year, Michael Jackson continues to make waves... and stir controversy. The current announcement that a long-rumored album of recent, unreleased material -- simply titled 'Michael' -- will, in fact, drop on Dec. 14 has already done both. Rolling Stone reports that at least one of the tracks, 'Breaking News,' was recorded in New Jersey in 2007 and is [...]
