Love's a boombox, turn the fader. You gotta love Ima Robot . This LA fivesome, formed all the way back in the noughties (the 90's, if you're not in the know), have created some freaking awesome tunes with some equally awesome and unusual lyrics. I stumbled upon them when looking for artists similar to my personal favourite Under the Influence of Giants (more about those guys here ) and have been listening to them non-stop since then. [...]

Watch me lean then watch me rock. In case you've been living under a rock for the past two weeks, you'll probably know that Travis Barker (amongst others including DJ AM ) was involved in a horrific plane crash on September 20. Luckily, he survived the crash but is said to be in "critical condition". To show support for everyone's favourite former Blink 182 drummer (and the only one, for that matter), [...]
Metallica - 'My Apocalypse' mp3 ( Rapidshare ) ( Megaupload )

let me tell you what i do when my day is over. the two dudes above may look innocent but don't be fooled by their trucker hats and floppy hair: LA Riots are evil masterminds preparing to take over the world with pretty much the most insanely awesome remixes known to man, woman, child and the barking dog next door. not everyone can say they've reworked everything from Kylie Minogue to Weezer , which is exactly what this duo have done - and well, at that. [...]

when it's late don't stop looking, where my eyes turn to glass. i've been waiting for the release of this album since, well, 2005's 'Everything in Transit'. Jack's Mannequin are one of the few bands that are simply captivating, no matter what mood you're in. i was planning on waiting until the September 30 release date of their sophomore effort 'The Glass Passenger' but i'm weak and just couldn't resist. in other words, i found another way to 'acquire' it. [...]
love is a four letter word. many of my friends and any metalheads out there who happen to be reading the DILT will probably throw rocks at me for this but i have to confess i've never been a particularly big Metallica fan. in fact, when it comes to this LA-based band, i'm almost definitely a top-class "n00b". a new track by the foursome by the name of 'The Day That Never Comes' has leaked and it hasn't done much to change my mind. even die-hard Metallica fans haven't been [...]

she ricochets, but you don't notice. she's in your head, you just don't notice. 'Ricochet', a spanking new Shiny Toy Guns track apparently taken from their MySpace , is absofuckinglutely incredible! whilst some listeners clearly don't feel the same way, i am personally lovin' it. it's darker, it's heavier and above all it's way more raw than their previous work so if you're expecting something similar, think twice. we like? Shiny Toy Guns - 'Ricochet' mp3

ella, ella, ella... eh, eh, eh - everyone loves a b-side. a b-side track from Beck 's outstanding new album 'Modern Guilt' has, as you may have expected, found it's way onto teh internetz. it goes by the slightly unusual name of 'Vampire Voltage No. 6' and it's definitely a hot effort. A for effort... B+ for delivery. mad props to Covert Curiosity for the link-up. [...]

no, it's not the end - it's only the beginning of what looks to be a very long and promising journey for LA rockers One Day As A Lion . their debut album is all set for release tomorrow and fans are going absofuckinglutely mental with excitement. i'm not gonna lie - i'm one of those fans and i'm berloody loving what i've been hearing up to now. until tomorrow, here's a new track by the duo: One Day As A Lion - 'If You Fear Dying' mp3 [...]

you read that correctly - LA-based One Day As a Lion 's first single 'Wild International' has leaked onto teh internetz through the band's MySpace and wild it is. One Day As a Lion consists of Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha and former The Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore. exciting eh? until now, their sound was a mystery anticipated by hundreds, nay, thousands of hopeful fans including me. now we finally know what they sound like. you like? if so, their first self-titled EP is due for [...]

shit, the week has started already? dayum! what happened to leaving work on Friday afternoon excited to start the weekend?! this also means the end of my blur of a birfday weekend. well, that sucks. i'm afraid it's back to work for most of us but for the luckier of you out there who are on vacation... i will track you down and steal your identity! i want to be you! please? so as you may or may not know, the start of the week inevitably means Damo's Monday mix tape which i usually [...]

now this is more like it! Beck 's 'Chemtrails' was good but i was expecting a little more from his new album Modern Guilt . my wish has apparently come true with the release of excellent upcoming single 'Gamma Ray' . i personally think it's a long shot better than 'Chemtrails' but that might just be me. give it a listen and tell me if you agree. i've also posted 'Walls' , one of the finest tracks on the album, simply because it felt like the right thing to do. [...]

Sam Sparro has created some of the most catchy hooks i've had the pleasure of hearing in quite some time. the native Ozzie-turned-American-turned-B rit was actually originally a child actor, having appeared in various commercials including one for McDonald's at the age of ten. mmm... McDonald's... his unique sound is a result of his church choir upbringing, his preference for back-alley parties and his "international cultivation". he is now signed to hawt label Island Records through which his first album, the uniquely-named 'Sam Sparro' , has been released. 'Black & Gold' [...]

fuck yes - this summer really is THE summer for hot new releases from great musicians. i can't even begin to explain how excited i am about all these imminent releases. well, i could, but something tells me you might not find that quite as interesting as i would. just a thought... so anyway, to get back on topic, Albert H ammond, Jr. of The Strokes fame is one of said great musicians. his new album ' ¿Cómo Te Llama? [...]
