MUSIC NEWS - Despite the rumors, Steve Perry won't be rejoining classic rock group  Journey , at least according Journey's team.   Reports circulated around the internet this week, fueled in part by London’s Daily Star story that claimed Perry was interested in coming out of retirement and had asked his former bandmates to take him back.  The numerous stories suggest that the rock singer wanted in to capitalize on the recent publicity of his song ‘ Don’t Stop Believin’ after it was covered in the mega-hit TV show ‘Glee’ and the added attention to the song and band with the tune's use [...]

MUSIC NEWS - Classic rockers,  Queen have signed a new record deal !  Under the new contract, we'll get new, remastered versions of all their albums out in 2011.  Their new deal, with Universal, ends the band's 40 year partnership with EMI. MUSIC NEWS - It would seem Kinks guitarist Dave Davies has ended the thoughts of a reunion of the classic Brit rockers by taking a swipe at his brother Ray Davies .  Despite Ray previously saying that his brother was "coming round" to the idea of putting the group back together, 14 years after they officially split,  Dave recently said he would never entertain the idea of a reunion.  He feels it it would taint the band's legacy. MUSIC NEWS - U2 's outspoken manager, Paul McGuinness says the band is ready to release a new album in "early 2011".  He revealed that the follow-up album to the supergroup's 2009 ' No Line on the Horizon ' is tentatively named 'Songs Of Ascent'  and would be out prior to U2's May 2011 North American concert tour . MUSIC NEWS - Dave Sholin and Premiere Radio Networks along with the Krantz Media Group have announced plans to syndicate a two-hour radio special and vignettes centering on John Lennon's last-radio interview, recorded at the Dakota in New York City, only hours before Lennon's death on December 8, 1980. MUSIC NEWS -  Southern rock legends, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have added cities to their Fall 2010 tour itinerary, after having sold out a just-announced Philadelphia, PA show and three Boston concerts .  The new concerts include eight shows beginning November 11 and their first-ever performance at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.  The Philadelphia concert will mark the band’s first shows since GREGG ALLMAN’s successful liver transplant in June 2010. MUSIC NEWS - Ronnie Wood will be in Ohio later this year for a new solo show, but not the one you'd expect from the legendary rock guitarist ( The Faces, Rolling Stone s).  This show will feature his paintings and other art and will be at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, OH.  The exhibition will be the first for Mr Wood, 63, at a major American museum and runs Spetember 21 through November 21, 2010 with Mr Wood expected to be at the museum for a reception on opening day [...]

MUSIC NEWS - Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was struct by a car while on his motorcycle and was treated for for minor injuries at a nearby Massachusetts hospital.  Middleborough, MA police reported that on Thursday afternoon the rocker was riding his 2009 Ducati Monster 696  when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Linda O'Brien, 62 on Route 44.  Ms O'Brien was not injured but did receive a summons for following too closely.
