According to an excellent interview with singer and main man Guy Connelly by Londonist , Clock Opera 's latest single Man Made is partly "constructed from a story in a 50p magazine about a beauty pageant in a Siberian women’s prison, whereby the winner was granted parole". This case history aptly demonstrates the breathless inventiveness of this fourpiece, and that fact's also loudly, proudly on show in the newest offering. For here are vintage Clock Opera touches: jangly and catchy up-tempo beats, a powerful video and vocals packed with emotion and feeling. [...]
After the inclusion of Clock Opera in our recent 'Bands to Watch' feature, together with their debut album and first full UK headline tour being both just around the corner, we're very excited about what 2012 holds for one of our favourite new bands. They're also about to appear on the new series of Topman CTRL in a show curated by the 2 Bears . We thought now would be a good time to have a chat with them so we grabbed a word with vocalist and songwriter Guy Connelly. [...]

After a strong 2011, Clock Opera have started this year equally as fast with the announcement that 'Once And For All' will be their next single release. To coincide with this they have made a music video equally as thought-provoking as the previously released 'Lesson No. 72. 'Once And For All' is an emotional track in the most uplifting sense. The video however is not uplifting, quite the opposite (so probably don't watch if you're having a shocker) but it is a superbly directed picture all the same, with a good cameo from frontman Guy Connelly [...]

It was only last month that I was waxing lyrical about Clock Opera 's latest musical chop pop gem to hit this world in Lesson Number 7, but today we've got a remix of that very track by the one and only Tom Vek . Vek has stripped out the thundering drums and breathless crescendos of the original, instead decided to slow it all down a little, pulling back the reins to focus on Guy Connelly's vocals, and sinstead keeping the rhythm with detuned synth stabs. A little more awkward, more jarring, but with [...]
Clock Opera are set to release "Lesson No. 7," their first single for Moshi Moshi/Island Records, via EP on October 3rd. The track's a good one, beginning in sample-driven fashion - not unlike the ever-awesome "A Piece Of String" - before exploding into a cascade of fuzzy bass, driving drums and reverb-drenched guitar. The EP also comes with a Tom Vek remix of the same track, so make sure to pick it up when it drops this fall. STREAM: Clock Opera - "Lesson No. 73
Casiokids Here are three songs that have been doing the rounds recently, all of which are worth a combined twelve and a half minutes of your time. The first comes from Clock Opera, who we've previously spoken of quite highly . This is their new song, due out on Moshi Moshi at the start of October. It's in slight contrast to the piano-based 'Belongings' we posted before, but the emotion is well and truly there while the buildup is every bit as good. They are slowly working [...]
Clock Opera are prepping their Moshi Moshi debut EP, Lesson No. 7 set to be released October 3rd . You can now listen to the title track from that below and all of it’s glorious build ups. While I forgot about these guys for a while, they are now fully back on my radar with this intense track. Clock Opera - Lesson No. 7 (Full Version) by clockopera

After being widely held as the highlight of this year's Field Day Festival, Clock Opera ( Facebook / Twitter ) are releasing their next single Lesson No. 7 in six weeks. The song is structured in layers that only Clock Opera know how, with a frantic breathless pace that builds and builds into shaking crescendo - all the while with Guy Connelly's wrapping the song in emotive desperation. My whole soul is racing. Clock Opera - Lesson Number 7 is released on Moshi Moshi on 7th October [...]

Clock Opera are from London. They make what can only really be described as pop music. It is not the kind of pop you're likely to hear on Capital FM, Radio 1 and the legions of other popular stations. This is a band who are making music that deserves to be listened to by people who are into house-y stuff, ballads, electro, indie... The list goes on. Having recently signed to Moshi Moshi they've released the song 'Belongings', which is a slow build to an ending that, frankly, you wished didn't end. Clock Opera - Belongings [...]
"Belongings" by Clock Opera , directed by Andy West. Reminds me so much of Elbow , quite a beautiful track and video. The kaleidoscopic effect unfortunately evokes images of flooding but features some striking images that really complement the layered build of this song. The track is the newest single from the band, available on 73 at Moshi Moshi . Glad I came across this, found here .
