According to an excellent interview with singer and main man Guy Connelly by Londonist , Clock Opera 's latest single Man Made is partly "constructed from a story in a 50p magazine about a beauty pageant in a Siberian women’s prison, whereby the winner was granted parole". This case history aptly demonstrates the breathless inventiveness of this fourpiece, and that fact's also loudly, proudly on show in the newest offering. Clock Opera are one of my 2012 newcomers that I have had a close eye on. They are now back with a brand new video for their upcoming single 'Man Made'. Clock Opera's debut album Ways To Forget is set to release April 24th on Moshi Moshi/Island Records.
After the inclusion of Clock Opera in our recent 'Bands to Watch' feature, together with their debut album and first full UK headline tour being both just around the corner, we're very excited about what 2012 holds for one of our favourite new bands. They're also about to appear on the new series of Topman CTRL in a show curated by the 2 Bears . We thought now would be a good time to have a chat with them so we grabbed a word with vocalist and songwriter Guy Connelly. [...]

To coincide with this they have made a music video equally as thought-provoking as the previously released 'Lesson No. 72. 'Once And For All' is an emotional track in the most uplifting sense. The video however is not uplifting, quite the opposite (so probably don't watch if you're having a shocker) but it is a superbly directed picture all the same, with a good cameo from frontman Guy Connelly [...]

Clock Opera are set to release "Lesson No. 7," their first single for Moshi Moshi/Island Records, via EP on October 3rd. The track's a good one, beginning in sample-driven fashion - not unlike the ever-awesome "A Piece Of String" - before exploding into a cascade of fuzzy bass, driving drums and reverb-drenched guitar. Clock Opera are from London. They make what can only really be described as pop music. It is not the kind of pop you're likely to hear on Capital FM, Radio 1 and the legions of other popular stations. This is a band who are making music that deserves to be listened to by people who are into house-y stuff, ballads, electro, indie... The list goes on. Having recently signed to Moshi Moshi they've released the song 'Belongings', which is a slow build to an ending that, frankly, you wished didn't end. Clock Opera - Belongings [...]
"Belongings" by Clock Opera , directed by Andy West. Reminds me so much of Elbow , quite a beautiful track and video. The kaleidoscopic effect unfortunately evokes images of flooding but features some striking images that really complement the layered build of this song. The track is the newest single from the band, available on 73 at Moshi Moshi . Glad I came across this, found here .
