Video: Flume – More Than You Thought

Flume - "More Than You Thought" (Official Music Video)
Flume  just wrapped up his first (and massively successful) tour of the US, which followed a breakout run at SXSW and Ultra Fest. He sold out virtually every show on tour, an amazing feat considering he had previously only played in New York City, and during the insanity of CMJ, no less. Now he's back home, gearing up for his Infinity Prism Tour, an Australian run of dates in massive rooms, which will feature a new centerpiece to his show. He's sharing a new video for album track "More Than You Thought," premiered today on  Pitchfork TV, which reveals the hypnotizing power of [...]

Live Video: Chad Valley

Live Video: Chad Valley Though named for a popular British toy company, Chad Valley is more than just a plaything Oxford, UK's Hugo Manuel. Also the frontman for the group Jonquil, Manuel has turned a couple of lo-fi solo EPs into a fully realized project of lush, summery synth-pop. Like Jonquil, Chad Valley features Manuel’s distinctive falsetto as it mines the sounds of the tropics and of the 802s, but here he tends more toward Balearic beat and psych-tinged electro-pop created by a table full of electronics rather than with a full band. Recently, Manuel released the official Chad Valley debut, [...]

Magical Cloudz | Turns Turns Turns (Blue Hawaii Flüchtig Mix)

Magical Cloudz | Turns Turns Turns (Blue Hawaii Flüchtig Mix) Blue Hawaii kickstarted as an experiment between Braids ’ vocalist Raphaelle Standell-Preston and Montreal-based artist, Alex “Agor” Cowan. Their first album, Blooming Summer, debuted back in 2010 on Cowan’s own imprint, Arbutus Records , and was comprised mainly of sun-drenched pop songs that Raph initially described as something like a “project of love.” From what we’ve been hearing, their sophomore record, which is set to drop later this month, is  straying away from the sounds they previously presented, taking a left turn in regards to both its production and inspiration. [...]

THE HONEY BROTHERS - Alone No More
Filed under: News , Exclusive , Q + A Noam Galai, AOL In order to thrive these days, many artists are forced to play and/or give away music for free. On the flip side of that comes actor and musician Adrian Grenier . The "Entourage" star and three partners set up Wreckroom Records, a studio in his Brooklyn home where they lets bands come in to record songs and film videos, gratis. We recently spoke [...]

Video: Little Green Cars at CMJ

Video: Little Green Cars at CMJ Little Green Cars was one of my favorite discoveries at this year's CMJ festival. Right now they only have a two-song EP available, the incredible The John Wayne , with plans to release a full-length album in 2013. Luckily, the show during CMJ was recorded, so I have something to tide me over until then.
