SBTRKT - Official | Facebook In celebration of SBTRKT's recent release of their LIVE album recorded/filmed at Shepherds Bush Empire London in October 2012 they've released the live video for Hold On/Migration. We've had the beautiful opportunity to see them perform live at last years Coachella and it was truly an amazing performance. It's so awesome to see their progression go from strictly ableton run dj sets to full on live performances. We can't wait for their next full length as well as next round of US Tour Dates. As Rolling Stone reports the annual Coachella festival, attended by over 75,000 fans might be looking for a new home in 2014 or 2015 due to a proposed admissions tax set to be introduced by the Southern Californian Indio City Council. Text messages intercepted by The Desert Sun from Goldenvoice's Vice President Skip Paige outlined the plan if the new tax were to pass; "If the tax initiative of putting $4 million to $6 million onto Coachella gets on the ballot, we're going to take off [...]
There isn't much I can tell you about Coachella 2012 that you don't already know. The logistics of the festival were known to the world after Weekend 1, and we "Overflow-ers" knew no late, large surprises would be held for us. Not that our group didn't hope. Outside of the promise of an unforgettable experience, my apprehension lay on the fact that we were headed for a rerun in 100°F-105°F degree weather. Would it be worth it? I'm happy to say it was. But I'll get there. [...]
The scenery is what initially grabs you. You're in the desert. It's hot. It's bright. Yet the air is clear, as is your mind. As you look up, you see gold-washed skyline, and you know that 100,000 of your closest friends will not let you down. Next, you nearly experience sensory overload where celebrities, scrubs, hipsters, princesses, players, punks, young, old...of all genres all types, intermingle with purpose. The following second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade, century, millennium, will be worth it when that first chord is struck. Memories generated at Coachella will last a lifetime. If there [...]

Filed under: News , Video , New Music Press Here Kasabian had a watershed two weeks at Coachella 's first-ever extended festival in Indio, Calif. The British band indulged in some traditional rock 'n' roll excess, and their experience is best related by guitarst Serge Pizzorno, as excerpted below. "California was insane a week of madness: Boozing and laughing, dancing and tearing it up. We tore it up," Pizzorno tells Spinner. [...]
One Owler learns some hard lessons under the sun at Coachella 2012.
Rose seemed happy to be back in San Francisco and was flanked by friends from the local SF music scene.

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , RPM It's getting hard to tell all these music festivals apart, so we gathered some crucial info on America's worst events of 2012. If practicing yoga to dubstep on [...]
This surfaced a couple days back but way to grimy to pass up, as Gambino takes (the second weekend?) of Coachella to experiment with some new material and new looks, likely to be part of his upcoming tape. The quality & setting of this footage makes it well worth the watch as well, on top of the quality sounding content.

The Saturday lineup of Coachella's Weekend 2 again brought stellar performances from the festival's U.K contingent, including Kaiser Chiefs, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Kasabian and, of course, Radiohead (top photo). Photographer Debi Del Grande made the rounds and selected some highlights for this gallery.

The sweltering heat festival-goers have come to know and loathe descended on Part II of Coachella's doubleheader in the desert last weekend. But it didn't seem to dampen the enthusiasm of L.A.'s Grouplove (top photo). Photographer Debi Del Grande captured some of Friday's performers in this gallery.
[Just a heads up: MGD flew me out to California to blog for them at the Filter Yacht Party and Friday of Coachella. They payed me to guest blog for their facebook page. Part of the deal is that they asked when I write about these events on YANP, I have to explain that these [...]

Check out my photos from the 2nd weekend of Coachella over at Stereogum .
With their first Coachella 2012 performances a not-quite-distant memory, over the weekend some artists engaged in live collaborations to make for unique experiences in their second fest go-around. John Fogerty joined the Black Keys , Annie Clark of St. Vincent sang with Andrew Bird, and Thom Yorke came out during Modeselektor's set to perform "Shipwreck." The spine tingling magical moment of the weekend was during Radiohead at the end of "Karma Police" when the crowd continued to sing "I Lost Myself" after the band had stopped. Check out the robust gallery of photos above and [...]

People-watching is as much a part of the Coachella experience as is enjoying your favorite band perform in the California desert. (Or, you know, waiting in line for 104-degree weather for a seven dollar strawberry lemonade.) This year's colorful cast of characters did not disappoint. From an inflatable Frankenstein costume, to a group dressed as crayons and flowers, there were fanny packs and a homemade deadmau5 headpiece and a gentleman in an Elmo mask. We pretty much saw it all, and had we not captured it with our [...]

Music lovers reconvened for round two of the 2012 Coachella Music Festival despite the 104-degree heat. Those who braved the elements for Weekend 2, were treated to a polished set by Frank Ocean , a dance party from Afrojack and a sing-along with chart-topper Gotye . While Rihanna and Usher were no-shows this time around, Sia made a guest [...]
