Yesterday while most of the music world's attention was focused on the Grammy awards, Jahrue of IMF Mag was in the studio with Pharrell and A$AP Rocky. The duo were working a few things, while nothing substantial has been confirmed, Jahrue did say that "Rocky was blessed with few joints and a verse." Legendary guitarist/producer/songwriter Nile Rodgers of Chic has blogged about his first recording session with Daft Punk . Today I've got a track that's got a real unique sound. It's from Canadian based Silver Medallion, we've featured his . He's got a voice that reminds me of an 802s singer, in the best way possible. This electronic powered track starts off pretty chill, then continues to buildup, and finally drop the bass at 1:40. Feature Cuts was recruited for the production of it, and really killed it. So there's been word on the street that dubstep powerhouse Rusko and American classic Cypress Hill we're teaming up to make a record. And this is the first track off of it. It's called 'Roll It, Light It', and features some bass packed dubstep whomps, and smoke themed lyrics from Cypress Hill. The sound works pretty well, with a very unique vibe. Converse have announced a special 'three artists, one song' partnership with the unveiling of their 2012 footwear collection. The Gorillaz , Andre 3000 and LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy will collaborate on the track "DoYaThing" to celebrate a specially branded Chuck Taylor All Star Converse. Gorillaz are coming back in a big way in 2012. The band announced, via the Twitter feed of Murdoc Niccals , that they would be teaming up with Andre 3000 of Outkast and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem for a brand new track called "Do Ya Thing." The song will be released on February 23rd over at Converse's website . The song will be released for the show company's "Three Artists. One Song" series.
