   MUSIC NEWS   - The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have confirmed their fifth annual Wanee Music Festival at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, on June 5-6.      MUSIC NEWS -  Attention Boston music fans --- U2 has unannounced plans for an intimate club gig.  In additon to their "intimate" show at Fordham University in the Bronx, NYC on March 6 for the AM tv program, Good Morning America , Bono & company have scheduled a March 11, 2009 show in Boston.      MUSIC NEWS - Over 500 fans of rockers, THE CURE , were stuck recently without concert tickets and their money when UK ticket broker, Trinity Street, shut down.  Now, the band and promoter, AEG have been assured they can attend the upcoming "Big Gig" concert at London's O2 Arena  on February 26, 2009 (the gig also feature Franz Ferdinand and Crystal Castles).  Promoters AEG negiotiated a deal with Trinity Street, and have promised fans they will be able to the event.  A statement from The Cure  and AEG reads: "New tickets will be despatched to you on [...]

    MUSIC NEWS - Simon and Garfunkel are planning to tour together for the first time in five years, Art Garfunkel says.  The singer revealed plans just five days after making a surprise appearance at a Paul Simon concert in New York where the pair performed three songs as an encore at Simon's concert at the newly renovated Beacon Theatre in NYC.  "Our plan to work together is coming together but it doesn't go through England this time," he told BBC News.  Garfunkel, 67, did not confirm if the tour would be in the US.     MUSIC NEWS - As part of their  Face2Face tour, Sir Elton John and NY's Billy Joel  have announced a concert this summer at Chicago's Wrigley Field, home of baseball's Chicago Cubs,  on July 21.  The two singer-songwriters will perform duets playing twin pianos and trading vocals. Each will play a set with his own band, followed by both bands joining in a finale. Joel and John started their hugely successful " Face 2 Face " concert tours in back 1994.
