This week's playlist is a little different than usual. Instead of the typical downtempo tracks, I've compiled a list of some of my favorite liquid drum & bass tracks of late. These tunes are perfect for lounging or getting some work done while you take it relatively easy this Sunday evening. Make sure you pop on those headphones though - the atmospheres from these tunes are best experienced at high volume levels. Get ready to relax your mind... Featured artist: Alberto Seveso [...]

Ideas are pouring in to fix this global economic crisis. From legalizing marijuana to decriminalizing prostitution to revisiting Karl Marx's theories to legalizing gay marriage to salary ceiling s to supporting worker union s to being eco-friendly and now: the supposedly new and great idea of battling corruption . It's amazing how all these great liberal ideas have been floating around for centuries and they only get attention when people feel the pinch of the penny. People get liberal [...]

My posts on politics have been sparse lately, mostly after Obama's inauguration. That is not because of a disinterest in the subject, but because the seeds are still being watered by this incumbent, per se. My support of Obama has left me with high hopes that are almost impossible to accomplish. To expect such fast and drastic change after 8 years of shit-throwing is unreasonable. The economy, I am told, has gone to the dumps in this post-Bush era we live in. All this talk of recession and crisis seems, to me, like a big figureheads way of trying to [...]

Are we still fighting over this. It's about time everyone got over their little conservative panties and legalized it. It's just a grass, who came up with the idea of outlawing a plant? The whole argument is old and tired and the statistics and scientific research show that a cigarette is more of a harm than the components of marijuana. People are still getting some jail time for a blunt. Get over it, it's been around for centuries and will stay around no matter how the moral landscape shifts.

So yo basically i've been keeping up the best I can but it's tough when economics and financial basics just aren't taught to the bulk of the US. Even economics class at my public high school only grazed the surface of the juicy stuff that has torn the United States economy apart. Anyway thanks to some hllrbrd links i've been catching up on what I missed in school and it's looking pretty scary. Nina Loans, CDOs, Suprime this and that. If you're trying to speak up at the adults table during thanksgiving check out these links. [...]
by pt On 8/22, Bjork responded to credits claims by the Icelandic newspaper the Grapevine. She sites incorrect credit attributions to sexism in the media industry and loose sources. Vespertine (one of the most beautiful albums of all time), is one of the chief victims of the mis-crediting Bjork speaks of. Check out her letter after the jump.
