What happens when Canadian electro punkers Crystal Castles and iconic 80's frontman Robert Smith collide? Apparently a reworked collaboration that sounds a lot better than it looks in writing. Breathing new life into their cover of the 1983 track by Platinum Blonde, Crystal Castles invited The Cure's lead vocalist to take the reins and the results are pretty great. THIS IS YOUR BAPTISM!! Crystal Castles finally made a music video for Baptism. Its my favorite and best track off from Crystal Castles (II) album. Only criticism is that they made the music video 2:50 minutes. The actual track is 4:13 minutes. There seems to be a trend with low budget music video. Case in point this music video . The video for Crystal Castle' s Celestica is here and well, it didn't really impress. The song is an awesome showcase of the band in bloom and yet the video looked like it's kinda cheaply made. Simple Video Technique, Lush Results One of the better documentaries of all time, Paris is Burning, gets Redux from Crystal Castles. Their song Empathy plays along with the footage masterfully.
We became a little obsessed with Crystal Castles' new track "Celestica" when we first heard it last month. It was stuck on repeat. You know how it goes. We've listened to a couple of nice remixes since then for a little change of pace, but neither were the type that really play off the power of the original. Crystal Castles is not having much fun at the moment. Their second album and first major label backed self-titled release has been leaked all over the internet a few days back. And their record label's decision to rush the digital release of the album has been much documented.
