Crystal Castles continue to make use of choppy VHS aesthetics in their new video for the (III) single, "Affection". The "abstract tour documentary" was shot after shows in Buenos Aires and Bogotá by Ethan Kath, drummer Chris Chartrand, and longtime videographer Marc Pannozzo. The montage piece features Kath and frontwoman Alice Glass performing on a neon-bathed stage and traipsing through some tall grass, while fireworks explode and some creepy masked woman dances in the background. For anyone who sat really close to the TV as a kid for the weird angles, then this is right up your alley. Watch it [...]

I had a great time at the Governors Ball last year. With the 2013 lineup announcement, it seems like the festival is growing a lot bigger. Not only is there another day added (June 7,8,9) but the quality and size of the artists particiapting this year seem to be on an all-around grander scale. Headliners include Kanye West, Kings Of Leon and a secret guest that will be announced later. Also playing are Nas, Grizzly Bear, The xx, Kendrick Lamar, Beach House, Cut Copy, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Bloc Party, Beirut, Local Natives, Death From Above 1979, [...]

Crystal Castles have officially confirmed the release date + title of their forthcoming album. Crystal Castles just released the first single from their upcoming album, due in late September. Of the album, producer Ethan Kath told NME , "There's no departure. We like how we sound. We don't wanna change." Alice Glass commented, "There's lots of themes, but feeling, like, oppressed… A lot of things not personally happening to us, since the past record, but people we know kind of profoundly influenced everything. Like, I didn't think I could lose faith in humanity any more than I already had, but after witnessing some things, it just… the world is a dystopia. [...]
