Today Crystal Castles have revealed the official video for "Affection" , taken from last year's third LP III . As with their previous videos for "Sad Eyes" and "Plague" , there's not a whole lot to get, other than Alice Glass still terrifies the shit out of me, and they love that old VHS feel to their videos. The band are currently on tour, including dates in September and October with [...]
There have been some screenshots of this video floating around the web for a little while now, but Crystal Castles just unveiled the video for "Sad Eyes" . The track is one of the biggest from their latest album (III) , and like some of their other videos it's fittingly dim and VHS-themed, distorted and jumpy. Filmed between Berlin and Toronto it features live footage along with staged, masked villainy. Connect with Crystal Castles : Facebook | Twitter | Last.fm | [...]
"A record lacking in any real standout moments, with the duo opting for a more meticulous sound..." Crystal Castles | III The third album from Toronto's highly charged, intensive synth-rock duo Crystal Castles comes along at a time when it seems almost half of the new bands arriving on the scene are using similar tools. While Crystal Castles were somewhat a breath of fresh air back in 2007-08, they no longer have the element of surprise, or even moderate innovation. And yet a good record, a catchy collection with just enough oddball twists and [...]
Crystal Castles' third full-length is set for release this November. Their latest single "Wrath of God" is coming this Wednesday (9/26). On top of all that, they kick off quite the extensive tour this Thursday (9/27). While we wait for all three, enjoy the video for "Plague". crystalcastles.com // facebook // twitter // [...]
This video for "Plague" been coming for a while, with screenshots being leaked months and months ago after it was being filmed in Berlin. With the announcement last week that Crystal Castles ' new, as-yet-untitled album will be out in November, this video is the first we've had from the band for a wee while so expect more actual new music from the band pretty soon (like the "Sad Eyes" track they promised us a few weeks ago).
Although electronic duo Crystal Castles are busy planning to record a new album, it looks like they're not completely done with their last one, and have released a "fashion video" for their song "Suffocation". The video, which features member Alice Glass poignantly moving around and changing into various dresses, is directed by band member Ethan Kath, and you can watch it over at Vs.Magazine . Stay tuned for more info on their new album.
It's funny how little things can please you so much. I spent my early years in London, living very near the Elephant & Castle (in the London Borough of Southwark, fact fans) and have many happy memories of there. Imagine my pleasure then when I discovered that a new band had made a video for their new single around that very place. Flash Fiktion have based themselves around the Walworth Road, far from the bustling districts of London hipsterdom so that they can focus on their desire to "...destroy [...]
by teepoo Toronto's Crystal Castles is no stranger to the blogs. Their electronic poppy song has been considered as one of the best Canadian tracks of 2010 . If you've never heard of them before, they're one of those bands that you might find a little strange or weird at confusing first but you end up listening to it over and and over again. Not in Love is a perfect example. Crystal Catles- Not in Love Check out the recently [...]

Watch: Paul McCartney, She & Him, Crystal Castles, Phosphorescent play late night
Perhaps it's only appropriate that on the eve in which we select our favorite music festival of 2010, the late night television circut was the equivalent of a mini-music extravaganza, both in terms of quality and diversity. Sir Paul McCartney headlined the festivities, first chatting with Jimmy Fallon about his first-ever visit to the White House and his Band on the Run reissue, then teaming up with him for a performance of “Scrambled Eggs”, the never-before-heard original version of "Yesterday". (It's as awesome as it sounds.) Macca then concluded his appearance by paying tribute [...]
