As my first post was dedicated to what I'm listening to while in my office, it is only fair that my second post is dedicated to that which plays loudly while out on these California highways... (usually I take the streets cuz the highways are a little too crowded for my liking but whose counting anyway?) There was an amazing 4 disc box set from Ozzy titled the Prince Of Darkness , which enlists 2 discs of live/demo tracks, another of Ozzy featuring his friends and a fourth of 'Under Covers,' which is [...]

The other, for The Faint's "Get Seduced", will see some sort of official release soon, according to the guys. Also, just for shits and giggles, here's an oldie they did for Digitalism's "I Want, I Want". It's funny when I come to think of it, I used to listen to The Faint back when I listened to all sorts of noise/grind/hardcore music. It was prolly 'cause they were signed to GSL Records at the time. then they stayed in hiatus for a long while, until the public was ready to listen to it. Good thing our beloved remixers and clubbers picked up on it and put them back on the map, still sounds a bit emo but the remix sort this all out. LAZRtag makes [...]

Getting The Green The Crystal Method Go Green. The latest group to go really green and also get in on the Obama music boom.

Today is probably one of the most important elections in the history of the United States. Today, people will determine who is the next chief of state. And today is NOW. The Crystal Method , like Adam Freeland and countless other DJs, have thrown in their support for Obama for President. And Subdrive is throwing its support for Obama today in the last hours. Blast this when you're at the polls, when you're about to vote, or even as you're voting. "Enough is enough, now [...]

UK elections don't tend to generate musicians to produce specific political tracks, especially not dance ones. But the current US election has and so this post features a Crystal Method track available free on their website (see yesterday's post for more Crystal Method). Accompanying it is the following message: Like 38 million other Americans, we were transfixed listening to Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. It reminded us of the creative process we went through all those years ago, listening to samples of inspiring old civil rights speeches [...]

The Crystal Method are American duo Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland. They were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre, and one of its few American proponents. They were often unfavourably compared to the Chemical Brothers, who had far greater success in America than did the home-grown act. Although Jordan and Kirkland are both from Las Vegas, Nevada, the band was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1993. The Crystal Method did most of their earlier production work in an underground shelter referred to as "The Bomb Shelter" in the [...]

A couple of MSTRKRFT remixes for ya that originally slipped through our field of view: Canada's Buck 65 and The Crystal Method get the treatment. Saw Buck live in July on Canada Day, and he preformed this track which was probably my favourite; lots of energy - MSTRKRFT intensifies this. As for The Crystal Method , these eletroheads are some of the first I ever got into (along with The Chemical Brothers). Gotta love aggressive electro. Buck 65 - Kennedy Killed The Hat (MSTRKRFT [...]

Pretty poor haul today. Just the one of note. Moby Moby may still be in dance's bad books for the success of "Play" and its ubiquitous licensing for adverts everywhere but he's still a dance original. Everyone knows his early smash "Go" (1991) and will have heard just about all of "Play" (2000) even if they didn't buy it. But I'm sure few will have heard anything much from his period in-between. Hi work in the 1990s was eclectic to say the least. [...]
Long time veterans of the electronic music scene, The Crystal Method have been hard at work for over a decade and are still going strong, about to... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Tons of DJs are circulating everywhere via the blogosphere. I would really love to post them all, but alas Electro/Remix/Mash-ups genre is my weakest link. If you've stick around long enough, you may have notice by now my music preference. Also Im only familiar with some of them i.e. MSTRKRFT, Sinden, A-Trak, Clockwork, Boys Noize, RAC, and others. Lately, two of them have somehow pulled my consciousness toward their eclectic dimension with their synth beats and thudding bass. Oh yes they did. To start of, I wanted to titled this post 'A-Trak VS MSTRKRFT' but Im guessing [...]
