Being a Top 25 Club from DJ Mag comes at no surprise as Beta Nightclub has been featuring an amazing array of talent this summer, and this weekend is once again no exception. Being regulars at Beta, we figured we should share their line up with you, in hopes that you’ll come down and rage with us. Also, just like last time, we have arranged for something special. In the world of electro-house, there are the repetitive, analogous club anthems, and then there are the face-melting aural assaults of Far Too Loud , a UK based producer whose sound is as undeniably distinct as his robot-infused graphics. Oliver Cash (as his mother still probably calls him) has been destroying dancefloors since 2005, making a name for himself with massive, dirty electro originals, as well as remixing for the likes of The Chemical Brothers and The Crystal Method . Today he released a free download of a promo he completed for Cable Club [...]

Miami area DJ Juan Carlos Portieles has been convicted of First Degree Murder in the death of is 18-year old girlfriend Jaclyn Torrealba, who he was charged with killing in October 2009. A Miami-Dade county jury has given Portieles, 33, a life sentence with no chance of parole for killing Torrealba and then driving around for a day with her body in the front seat of his car. Portieles used the alias DJ Seasunz and played trance sets on Miami's club scene. He had opened for acts such as The Crystal Method and Armin Van Buuren, [...]

This may just as well be one of my favorite music videos this year. It's got that Disney recipe. You know, the one where your hopes are up, life is good and you're ready to embark on a great adventure, moment or idea. But then, the sky falls down, depression set in and all hope is lost. All is lost until inspiration kicks in and we're blessed with a happy ending of sorts after a Rocky-like comeback. Thus is the case for our local bear friend who assums he found true love until he faces rejection. Will he [...]

we both know it's not what it seems, we both know it's between the sheets ♫ Meiko - Leave The Lights On (The Crystal Method Remix) After their work in the Re:Generation project it seems like The Crystal Method are killing it again. This dark and slippery groover is signature Crystal Method without overwhelming the delicate original. It just has some balls now.
The first of 400,000 outdoor music festivals of the Summer start this week, but there is plenty of other rocking for you, so good luck and make some excellent live music decisions. Lost Turntable news! The long-awaited, incredibly-overdue, far-too-complex, incredibly-well-written Lost Turntable Guide To Recording Vinyl will be published here within one week's time! Now, that doesn't mean this week, that means a week from today (Wednesday). I mean it. It's actually almost done. I'm just polishing up the rough edges and adding in screencaps/photos. It's turned into a damn epic, well over 4,000 words, and I'm going to have to split it up into multiple parts (which will all be published simultaneously). I really hope it doesn't suck. Anyways, time I got something off my [...]

The Crystal Method, Krewella, Alex English, and RekLES at Webster Hall on Friday. PS new glasses logo on the flyer, too.

This is, at it states, a remix album. If you’re looking for soothing folk music, go listen to something else. However, if you like raves, club music, dubstep, hip hop, trance, or any other form of electronic music, check this out. Five world-renowned producers are the main draw: Skrillex, The Crystal Method, Pretty Lights, Mark Ronson, and DJ Premier. Each of them have numerous collaborators: members of the Doors, Martha Reeves, The Funk Brothers, Leann Rimes, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, Mos Def, Zigaboo Modeliste, members of the DAP Kings, Nas, and the Berklee Symphony Orchestra. Those names [...]
In case you missed the awesome duet of "I'm Not Leaving" by electronica band The Crystal Method and legendary soul singer Martha Reeves on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you can watch the YouTube video below. The song came about as part of the Re:Generation film/music project. There really should be more collaborations between classic soul singers [...]
The Crystal Method - at Club Fever The Crystal Method - at Club Fever 2/25/12 Remix of Dillon Francis and Kill The Noise-Dill the Noise.
The Crystal Method has been at the vanguard of electronic music since their debut album Vegas, which went platinum and set a precedent for high-quality releases in the following decade, which included: Tweekend, Legion of Bloom, and Divided by Night. We had the pleasure of speaking with Ken Jordan, who represents one half of the duo. The resulting interview is a lesson in EDM history, but also a window into the current scene. What got you interested in electronic music? When and where did you get your start? I worked at a college radio station in [...]
Re:Generation Music Project (2012) : Official So glad they decided to stream this ONLINE and for FREE to the PUBLIC. I may or may not do a review for this. We'll see. It's actually more important to us that you take something positive about music discovery and creation from this film. Don't dwell too much about why they paired up certain artists with other artists. Just enjoy the music and it's process... Nativity
