Dorian Wood conjures creaky ghost-filled houses on his latest album, Rattle, Rattle, a doomsday-themed epic featuring no less than one hundred musicians, haunted horns, doomed pianos, carnal forces, villains, tortured spirits, and flesh. 22-year old Austin Peralta passed away yesterday. Official reports haven't been released as to the cause of death. Son of skateboard legend Stacy Peralta, this super talented guy was a musical force to be reckoned with. He had two CDs out in Japan by age 16. Still budding, his prowess earned him respect from jazz greats as well as the music community forged by Brainfeeder. Read our interview from a few issues ago with Peralta. Here we pay tribute to some of his fine moments, starting with his performance at the Tokyo Jazz Festival at age 15.

It is quite swooping. Not to be confused with sweeping, this is more swooping. (Roll your head in a bit of a circle when you say the word.)
