More saucy rhythms from Dam-Funk ? I can dig it! While I would love to see the left-coast funk machine put out some more official material, all these quick leaks certainly do the trick as well. Dam-Funk and his band Master Blazter was known to put on some of the craziest funk parties the modern world had ever seen. Back in November, band member J-1 passed away in his Sweden home, shocking the many fans they had conjured up over recent months of touring. Dam-Funk could turn a Bill Callahan cut into deep funk, so bending Peaking Lights' ethereal guitar dubs into a dance party is no problem. This is what you think it will be: infinite groove, smooth as freshly paved asphalt, and obviously funky. Avoiding that word when writing about a Dam Funk song is like trying to talk about David Stern without cursing.

We have had a great reaction to our change up for Saturdays. Classic funk, soul and disco seems to be going down a treat with the lugs. In these days of people using the word 'swag' incessantly, it's nice to know there are still cool cats about who don't rely purely on rap music. This kind of West Coast funk is scarce these days, and it does seem Dâm-Funk is pulling most of the weight.
