Feed Me has just dropped his latest Ep on Mau5trap recordings entitled "Feed Me's Escape From Electric Mountain" and apart from the previously released track "Trap Door" which you may or may not be familiar with, this Ep is chock-full of new material from one of the elite producers in the world. In typical fashion Feed Me covers multiple genres within this release, much like his previous work it includes a nice mix of progressive and electro house with a couple of monster bangers thrown in for good measure. My favorite is definitely his collaboration Gemini, who is of course [...]

Filed under: News , RPM , Awards Getty Images | AFP Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich had considered putting dancing/electronica music into the ceremony in the past, but could never quite figure out how to incorporate the high-energy club feel in front of a sometimes staid audience. He thinks he's figured it out this year. For the first time, the Grammy show will put the spotlight on the genre with a segment [...]
The producers of the Grammys have never been afraid to give the world fascinating, embarrassing pileups, and this year's ceremony could be a doozy. As the Associated Press reports , this Sunday's ceremony will include a vageuly ravey segment in a tent space outside the Staples Center, with 1000 fans. That's where the Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 will team up to perform a live version of Deadmau52s remix of the Foos song "Rope." And it's also where David Guetta will perform with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. Hopefully, everyone will wear clothes entirely made out of glowsticks. [...]

Dance music didn't have its own category at The Grammys until 2003, and now the little genre that could appears to have been fully embraced by the Recording Academy. The 2012 Grammy Awards will include "a special segment spotlighting dance/electornica music for the first time ever." The lineup for this special performance? Deadmau5, David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and the Foo Fighters. Wait, what? During the awards show, the five artists will perform in a tent outside the Staples Center in front of a crowd of 1,000. Grammy show producer [...]

Rhode Island's AraabMuzik, aka Abraham Orellana, likes to think of himself as some sort of sage. Continuing the instructive theme of 20102s collaboration with J. Armz, How to Be an MC , is this year's Instrumental University. In case anyone forgets exactly who is schooling them, Orellana generously drops his signature "You are now listening to AraabMuzik..." Sensuous as that voice is, it comes across as obnoxiously territorial sometimes, especially with all the screams. Admittedly, inflated egos in the hip hop world are as ubiquitous as sampling, and AraabMuzik is a talented enough producer to boast a bit. Instrumental University [...]

This past year, we breezed by Tiesto's Allure, Kiss From The Past album and are only realizing now that we should have possibly focued a little less on our bazillions of Adele remixes and stuck to this solid album. In a recent and lengthy Facebook update Deadmau5 has signalled his relaxed attitude to the potential idea of DJ competitions heralded by the mainstream. "It seems that EDM has been deemed fashionable enough these days to warrant its own long overdue prime time slot to the masses. "This concept, if anything, is going to catapult the awareness of EDM through the roof. "Yup, our poor little coveted secret cool underground society will be thrown into the masses. Is this a bad thing? I don't think so." This comes in light [...]

LCD frontman James Murphy had made the conscious decision to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top [...]

by Jonno Seidler ( One A Day ) I'm not going to be the first or last person to tell you that dubstep was at once the most horrific and interesting thing to crawl to the top of the dance music heap in 2011. Of course, the roots of the movement go way back to British garage and 2-step and have been kicking around for longer than most Stoney Roads readers have had email addresses but for the sake of the argument let's isolate the apex, or the dangerous prepice, if you will, [...]
