There's a variety of ways to evaluate rap music. You can break it down based on beat, flows, lyrics,or quality of engineering. You can measure it strictly on whether bangs in your car or not. Or you can get abstract and try to postulate about how much it contributes to the evolution of the genre. You can also measure it entirely off reaction. Legendary hip-hop producer The Alchemist released his new album Russian Roulette yesterday, a sporatic blend of hip-hop essentials and old Soviet propaganda and sound samples. The lead single from the album, " Flight Confirmation ", features Danny Brown and ScHoolboy Q and highlights this odd but awesome blend perfectly. It makes all the sense in the world, then, that the accompanying video for the single is equally as sporatic and assaulting on the senses. Get ready to have your eyeballs barraged by flashing animated gifs.

I think Alchemist, Danny Brown, and Schoolboy Q broke the Matrix. That's the only rational explanation for the meme-tastic, breast filled, sensory overload that is director Jason Goldwatch's video for "Flight Confirmation." The track itself is a chaotic delight even without the visual treatment, a ghoulishly angular, Scooby Doo soundtrack-style beat from Alchemist serving as the perfect backdrop for Danny and Schoolboy's particular brand of insanity. Yesterday The Alchemist released his new LP, Russian Roulette .  The album is a non-stop 30 minutes of old-school eastern european music turned into dirty Hip Hop featuring all your favorite emcees in the scrunch-your-face-indie genre (who some shit like that).
