During Danny Brown 's show last night at the Scala in London, the crowd was treated to a surprise appearance from one of our other favorite MCs here at Potholes. It turns out that Action Bronson was in town, too, and was subbed in by his " 1 Train " cohort for an impromptu performance. The larger-than-life Flushing Queens native rocked the stage doing his Saaab Stories single " Strictly 4 My Jeeps " with some help from Brown on the ad libs. I hope that this means we'll hear these two on more tracks together. [...]

Speaking of Danny Brown , the Detroit native took a trip to the U.K. recently to perform what were surely some live-as-hell shows. He also stopped by the offices of Tim Westwood, who invited the Old rapper to spit some bars over (what else?) "Numbers on the Board". I'll say it once and I'll say it again: I'm not usually a fan of stuff like this, if only because it tends to be trend-hopping bullshit. But any chance to hear Danny spit with weed clouds around him is more than welcome, especially when [...]
In Pitchfork's Latest Over/Under , Danny Brown touches on a number of hysterical topics like cereal, North Korea and soft core porn. Oh, and Andrew's internet is down right now, but he'd be happy that Brown touches on the subject of cats. All-in-all, this is just another interest tidbit from Mr. Brown, who never seems to have any trouble holding our attention. Even when he speaks on the most ridiculous of issues.

Danny Brown caught up with the folks at FUSE during his time at the Sasquatch! Music Festival to offer up some new quotables about music in general, performing in front of crowds unfamiliar with his work, collaborations on his new album, and the time he spent in jail. The last bit has perhaps the best moment, as the Detroit native reflects on the eight months behind bars. He sums up his feelings with a hilarious, interview-ending soundbyte: "I'd rather do drugs than sell them at this point." Well said. You can watch the video below. [...]

Long Beach, Calif. native Joey Fatts has been steadily building some buzz for his latest project, Chipper Jones Vol. 2 , with bangers like " Choppa " and " The Wave Matthews Band ". And today, the free release has finally arrived with a total of 15 new joints and some seriously choice guests. The West Coast rapper-producer is joined by the likes of Danny Brown , Action Bronson , 100s , A$AP Rocky , and Freddie Gibbs , among others. If those cosigns aren't enough for you to download this one, then you can [...]

Eighteen months ago, I caught Danny Brown live for the first time. Opening for Das Racist, Brown played to a half-interested crowd of about 30. Last Friday, the Hybrid took the same stage as the headliner to a raucous crowd that had to be in the hundreds. It was representative of a rapid ascendancy following nearly a decade of relative anonymity. So the chipped-tooth smile on the face of the thirty-two year-old artist represented not only the ecstasy of rocking a sweaty, soaked and “turnt-up” crowd, but also a sense of relief that this finally his time. And [...]

Being the No. 1 Danny Brown fan site (not really but kind of), we are beyond-excited to see the live clips keep rolling in with the Detroit rapper debuting new tracks. The latest premiere came last night in Chicago, where he performed and later hung out with Chief Keef and his boys. Brown decided to treat the crowd to "Dip", a "N***as in Paris"-referencing and wild-sounding joint. Man, Old can't get here soon enough and here's hoping it still drops in August. Watch the clip below. [ via ] [...]

It just wouldn't be a new week if we didn't post something about Danny Brown today. Thankfully for us, someone was filming his Coachella set and caught the Bruiser Brigade leader running through "Dope Song". The Rustie -produced track was previously premiered (sort of) by Hudson Mohawke earlier this year, but now we're getting the banger straight from Danny Brown himself. Sounds insane, no? Watch the performance below. [ via *] *Yeah, that's me in the comments section making an ass of myself.
It was 6:30 a.m. on a Friday. Any self-respecting human being should have been hitting snooze, squeezing nine more blissful minutes of sleep before building the courage to get out of bed and put in the last eight hours that stand between them and the criminally insufficient 64 hours of free time before they slump back into their desk chair. But self-respecting humans are in short supply here. Instead of the shrill blaring of an alarm clock, I was being woken by Don Ricardo, the godfather of Coachella trips, handing out Jager bombs to the poor souls in my tent. [...]

As you likely know, Danny Brown and Baauer are about to embark on their joint Worst of Both Worlds tour . But just in case you haven't heard about it, Danny's here to share a special message. It's one filled with blank stares and eventual giggling, as the Detroit native watches an old anti-drug PSA that might remind you of your youth. It will also remind you that YES HE AND BAAUER ARE TOURING SO YOU SHOULD GET TICKETS IF THEY'RE AVAILABLE. Any questions? RELATED: Our 10 [...]

When writing about certain rappers, there are immediate qualities that are difficult not to point to in a description. There's the flow, the way the MC rides (or doesn't ride) the beat, and perhaps the most powerful element: his or her voice. While it's true that you could argue that most rappers have at the very least a "good" voice, there is a select group of MCs on another level entirely. And if you have read enough music magazines, blogs, and the like, you might have seen a writer state that he or she could listen to said rapper recite [...]

Anyone will tell you that the best interviews are the ones that reveal something new and different about the subject. That's partially why, for example, Nardwuar is so f*cking great. But that's also why this Life In A Minute segment with Danny Brown is more than worth your time. He reveals when and why he started rapping, what prison taught him, and much more in, well, LESS THAN A MINUTE. Yeah, watch this now. RELATED: Check Out These 16 Awesome Danny Brown Illustrations
Yes, we love Danny Brown here at Potholes, but we love visual artists, too. So when we saw that there were 16 pretty f*cking awesome illustrations of the Detroit rapper just floating around the web, we felt it was time to put them together in one neat place. Props to Danny, of course, as he didn't just serve as the inspiration for these killer pieces. He also put a bunch of them on his Instagram earlier this week, which is where this entire post first came together. And why did we choose 16? Well, that's just the [...]

XXL Freshman ScHoolboy Q made a pretty huge announcement today in an interview with the magazine. While it mostly centers on his OxyMoron debut, there's also a piece about an apparent super-group that just might come to fruition. OK, I'm going to try my best to just be objective here ... but holy shit: Q said that he, Danny Brown , A$AP Rocky , and Ab-Soul have talked about doing a project together. Apparently Q and Rocky are talking about doing something, too, though I think I speak for everyone when I [...]

When we put together our list of the most anticipated albums of 2013, there were two that easily stood out. We've already written about one of them extensively— Earl Sweatshirt's Doris —and it's now time to give some love to the LP that actually topped the list. That's Danny Brown's new full-length, Old , formerly titled ODB . It's his first solo release since his break-out album, 20112s fantastic XXX , and we couldn't be more excited about the prospect of new music from the Detroit spitter this year. We don't know [...]

We have a double-dose of Danny Brown and Kitty today. After reporting that the two will hit the road together this spring, we're now seeing lil' Danny (Dante Hoagland) interview the Floridian rapper. Remember him? The kid from the "Grown Up" video that's still the best? Yeah, he sat down with Kitty recently to ask if she has a crush on Danny, if she has a boyfriend, why she started rapping, and more. It's absurd, but it's cute so LIGHTEN UP.

So you saw the dates for Danny Brown and Baauer 's upcoming joint tour and were hoping they'd hit more cities? Well, we have good and bad news. Which do you want first? The good? OK, well, Danny will be performing across the U.S. when that jaunt wraps up. Baauer won't be joining him, which kind of sucks, but Kitty will open a majority of the shows and that should be plenty entertaining. Anyway, you can view the full schedule below and make sure you listen to Danny's latest cut, " #HottestMC ". Tour dates: [...]

We're pretty excited to bring you the news that Toronto's Jesse Futerman has some huge collaborations coming with some fellow PIMB favorites. I just chopped it up with the burgeoning producer and he revealed he is working with Earl Sweatshirt and Danny Brown . Yeah. From what I've been told, Futerman's project with Earl with be a full-on EP featuring some self-described "joke raps" from the producer to boot. Futerman has also been added as a member of the Odd Future collective. Hopefully we get to hear a preview of the effort soon. [...]

We've been dying to hear new music from Danny Brown , especially after he revealed the producer lineup for his upcoming Old album. And from what we're being told, we just might have our first preview today by way of an unnamed track that Hudson Mohawke played at a recent show. It's rumored to be one of the Rustie -produced cuts and, as expected, it sounds absolutely f*cking awesome/insane. You can preview the track below. Major props to reader Driftbui for the tip.

Do you live in Texas, California, or Arizona? Yeah, you do? Well, f*ck you then, because those are the only states to have stops during Danny Brown and Baauer 's upcoming joint tour. That's right: these two are hitting the road together, which is sure to blow the roof of every damn venue on their jaunt. I'm hoping that this gets extended somehow, but I'll just wait for some fan-shot footage to arrive and make me jealous. I guess. [ via ] Tour dates: Apr 9 Houston, TX, Fitzgeralds Apr 10 Dallas, [...]
