WORLDS END PRESS have certainly come a hell of a long way since the days of their bright and eccentric electro-pop releases. And the release of their new single, 'Deadbeat Sweetheart' is the perfect supporting evidence in our argument. 'Deadbeat Sweetheart' is the first taste from WEP 's forthcoming debut album. Coming in at around 7 minutes, this is definitely not your typical dance-pop, early local set at Groovin' The Moo kind of track. This is a brooding take on a genre that is developing quicker than we can [...]

On Thursday the 20th of September, we attended a show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto that far surpassed our expectations. David Byrne and St. Vincent delivered a concert full of musical twists and turns along with beautiful arrangements. As they entered the stage, the twelve piece line up featuring an eight-piece brass section broke out into a refreshing version of their first single Who . David Byrne and Annie Clark took turns trading off on old classics and new favourites. Ranging from St. Vincent's lovely Marrow to Talking Heads' Burning Down the [...]

David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame) and St. Vincent are an amazing duo. Love this Giant is an album you should all buy. Dig this amazing jam. via

The debut single from David Byrne and St. Vincent's upcoming Love This Giant collaboration has this brand new Martin de Thurah video. Shot entirely in black and white, it begins with Bryne hitting Annie with his station wagon, which I suppose is how this project actually began. Check out the video below, and stream Love This Giant over at NPR now.

St. Vincent and David Byrne are streaming another track from their collaborative album Love This Giant . Along with the album opener "Who", you can now hear the track "Weekend in the Dust" at the duo's website . In a fan newsletter, the duo said "Weekend in the Dust" was one of 10 album tracks written collaboratively. "David came up with some brass riffs and swells that sounded pretty funky. Annie then wrote a cool vocal melody with words over it. We both arranged her vocal and other elements of [...]

St. Vincent and David Byrne have recorded an album called Love This Giant together. The pair have been working on music since 2009 when they were intially asked to collaborate on a track for charity. Rather than do just one track, they went the whole hog and the central theme of the record is the use of a brass band. From the sound of first track - 'Who', it's an inspired theme; both Byrne and Clark's voices are suited to the brass instrumentation and Clark's recent guitar work has echoed the sound of brass parps of late. [...]

Word of a collaborative album between David Bryne and St. Vincent was released a few weeks back, with a supporting tour along the way. Today, we hear the first cut from their upcoming Love This Giant , which is expected for release at the end of the summer. Listen to "Who" below, and check out the album details over at Stereogum .

You mean St. Vincent and David Byrne together - as in actually making a whole record together? This sounds too interesting, and the album title is cool too, Love This Giant . It's out in September via 4AD/Todo Mundo. Here's a track for an email type deal:
In case you had forgotten, it was almost exactly a year ago when Arcade Fire started secretly dropping 12″ vinyl singles in record stores around the world. That was “The Suburbs”/”Month Of May,” and served as the starting point for what would later become the year of Arcade Fire. With the release of The Suburbs , the band began to dominate record sales charts, headline festivals, win Grammys (much to the chagrin of America), and generally rise to a level of fame and accomplishment not often associated with independent artists. Now [...]
As Arcade Fire prepare to release their deluxe version of "The Suburbs" and their Spike Jonze directed short film two unreleased tracks have hit the internet. Zane Low premiered the two new songs on his radio show. The first is 'Speaking in Tongues' featuring David Byrne of the Talking Heads and the second is 'Culture [...]

There's a space-age lounge vibe running throughout "Salt on Sea Glass," the debut album by the all-star quartet If By Yes — and that the music seems beamed back from the future is no surprise if you're familiar at all with the resumés of the parties involved. Petra Haden, daughter of jazz bassist/composer Charlie and sister to musicians Josh, Rachel and Tanya, has been wielding her vocals like a light saber for years. (Recommended: Her a cappella "Petra Haden Sings the Who Sell Out.") She's joined in this new project by avant-garde electro goddess [...]

Filed under: News , Video , New Music , Exclusive When Mars Volta keyboardist Isaiah Owens told Spinner that the debut Maximum Balloon album was going to be a "party record," he wasn't kidding. An all-star collaborative side project helmed by TV on the Radio 's Dave Sitek , the album has already been, justifiably, compared to Gorillaz ' 'Plastic Beach.' "I decided to do Maximum Balloon to [...]

Dave Sitek. That name may not roll off the tongue of the average music listener. If you're not aware of who he is, shame on you. The man has only been a major driving force in the New York sound in the last decade. Beginning with his own band, a little known outfit named TV On The Radio, then take a quick look at the work he's done in the producer's chair and you can see the man has done a little bit of work over the last ten years. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs... Liars...Telepathe...Scarlett Johansson (Let's forgive him for [...]

Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio's new project Maximum Balloon will have appearances from Little Dragon, Theophilus London, David Byrne, Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone, Karen O, Holly Miranda and Ambrosia Parsley (Kill Bill's Shivaree - 'Goodnight Moon' ). The single 'Tiger' featuring Aku Orracu-Tetteh which is the soundtrack to this naughty NSFW Daisy Lowe video , which sort of makes it sound strip club friendly, gets a video next week. A track-by-track guide is here . 'If You Return' is the best track I've heard thus far and it features Little [...]

David Andrew Sitek is a busy boy. When he not producing/playing many instruments for his band TV on the Radio he's off making a new solo album called Maximum Balloon . Sitek is gearing up to release this solo album of his with the help of some close friends. You've got Kyp Malone and Tunde Adebimpe from TVOTR, Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Talking Heads' David Byrne on this record to name a few. You probably wanna know what this bad boy's gonna sound like now, don't ya? [...]

Apparently, there is a Roisin Murphy remix contest going on...hosted by Indaba and the world's biggest petulant child of a gossip blogger. What makes our stance on it infinitely cooler is that rad dudes like Tempe, Arizona's Speedy Graffiti decide to send over their mixes so we can hear 'em and love 'em. Gossip bloggers...pssshhh. [...]
