The latest album out by American indie pop/rock band The Little Ones titled, The Dawn Sang Along is the soundtrack to the dreamiest of days. This album is the epitome of “feel good” music; quite possibly making your bad day ... Continued

"The Little Ones’ sophomore effort “The Dawn Sang Along” is a harmony laden and melodic, but ultimately forgettable effort that fails to really break new ground..." The Little Ones | The Dawn Sang Along The Dawn Sang Along the second album from California's The Little Ones, following 2008’s “Morning Tide” clocks in at a mere 40 minutes and boasts falsettos, plenty of jangly melodies and more than enough “woooah woooah” backing vocals - the most obvious culprit being the track ‘Forro’ - but ultimately fails to really create anything innovative or interesting to [...]

EL Perro Del Mar - Hold Off The Dawn (Nattbuss remix) [ mp3 SoundCloud] Two new and really different remixes for EPDM. Nattbuss goes more breakish and bass heavy, while Gidge delivers smooth housy vibe. EL Perro Del Mar - Hold Off The Dawn (Gidge remix) [ mp3 SoundCloud]

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars Releasing their debut album back in 2008, The Little Ones have henceforth been known for their hyper-energized, guitar laden power pop. With members of this group coming from the band, “Sunday’s Best,” this group is comprised of several musicians giving their best go at making music that people can shake it to. If I could say one thing about The Dawn Sang Along , it would be that it essentially [...]

Deep House and UK Funky typically have vocals. Yet, many listeners now favor club tracks with no words. The oft-overlooked style is the theme of this mixtape. And, it may just make your shy Valentine do the nasty. The cutesy indie pop sunshine emanating from The Dawn Sang Along could fit into commercials quite easily. The dew-glistening vocals, ambling rhythms, and light-hearted hooks could propel a shiny sedan down a winding hill quite easily to "Boy on Wheels", a pretty family smiling out the open windows. Over a well-sliced section of "Argonauts, a group of hip young people (maybe one of them is wearing a scarf and some thick-framed glasses) could walk into a restaurant. Which is all to say that the world that The Little Ones present on this album is heavily prepared and [...]
The Little Ones sophomore album “The Dawn Sang Along,” reminds us why we fell in love with this band, so go ahead and fall in love again.
You know what they say when you assume... Branches Recording Collective , 2013 8.3 / 10 It is easy to immediately reject all of this. The name The Little Ones (yes, “The” is part of their name) seems to glamorize the innocence/ignorance of youth, an approach that [...]

In 2006, the Little Ones released one of the finest debut EPs of the 21st Century and, without trying to sound too Michael Caine, not a lot of people know that. Sing Song was unleashed with perfect timing; the Shins were at the height of their popularity (in between Chutes Too Narrow and Wincing The Night Away ), Hot Chip and Band of Horses released notable debut LPs full of catchy hooks of very different kinds, and even indie-pop mainstays Belle & Sebastian were back on form. Yes, 2006 was a great year [...]

As the second track of ‘Goldenheart’ claims, this marks the return of a queen. Dawn Richard may not be a well-known name in the UK, but her career in the industry began when she auditioned for MTV’s ‘Making The Band’ way back in 2005. This led her to a spot in Danity Kane and, later, P Diddy’s ‘Diddy-Dirty Money’ collective. ‘Goldenheart’ is part of a planned trilogy of albums and follows last year’s ‘Armor On’. Richard has a varied musical palette, [...]
We've covered a few Format:B tracks in our day, but haven't quite given the German duo the recognition they deserve. These two have been noticeably repping the German techno and tech house sound on remixes and compilations for almost ten years, but this could just be their strongest effort thus far (and their first since the 2011 album Restless ) . The Dawn EP is a trifecta including the originals "Dusk," "Dawn," and "Rise." The tracks all play on a similar grinding and whirling techno theme, but we're not complaining about the consistency. [...]
