Lately I've found myself in the clutches of a very diverse trio of approaching deadlines, which means that I'm three times as cranky as usual. But at least two of the three seem to be getting resolved. The first deadline is being taken care of right now, by the act of writing this. You've probably figured out that I'm referring to my self-imposed publishing schedule for the ol' GMC. It requires me to post a new article every other day, so this will take care of that - at least until the next is due. [...]

Last summer's blockbuster action film Salt starring Angelina Jolie as Russian spy Evelyn Salt , did well at the box office, raking in over $300 million in revenues. The movie was exciting and fun to watch, and if you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you go rent it NOW. The ending to the film was left open for the possibility of a sequel, and thankfully Sony Pictures indeed has plans to go ahead with a second film [...]

The future of the hit TV sitcom Two & A Half Men has been up in the air since all the bullsh*t with Charlie Sheen started months back. The producers of the show are doing their damnedest to recast with an A-Lister whose star quality rivals that of Sheen's. According to Deadline , the front runner for the job has been none other than Hugh Grant ! Grant was apparently in deep talks for the role and [...]

Paramount Pictures is trying to cash in as much as possible after the success of their bio-pic Never Say Never , the story of the meteoric rise to fame of Canadian singer Justin Bieber . The film was a mixture of home video footage, live performance footage, interviews, etc, which cost Paramount a mere $13 million to produce. It grossed over $97 million. So now that they know for a fact that the Biebs has big screen draw, they wanna pair him up [...]
Best way for me to give you a ton of music I should've blogged about that I'm finally doing is by posting my favorite songs from mixtapes I have been meaning to blog about. Then I realized I had a ton of mixtapes that I needed to blog about, so I eli

Deadline hits us with a dope tee for Spring, The Black Hand. "In the 1900′s The Black Hand was a method of extortion that involved a party getting a letter with a demand for money. If that money was not paid more often than not you would be killed. So, this is our letter to you. " Peep the other colorways below.

Roots Manuva has met Wrongtom and made a tune called 'Jah Warrior' . It's really cool - I love a bit of Mr. Manuva and this Wrongtom fella seems pretty dope too. They've also done a couple of remixes; one of 'Buff Nuff' called 'Rebuff' and I think it's a greater than the original, especially in the chorus. 'Bashment Boogie' also gets tickled with the remix stick and 'Basement Bogle' is definitely rather bogling - good stuff. Buy. UK Hip Hop artist QRED has joined up with US MC Brandeesh, looped [...]

Okay, everyone is talking about this and the truth of the matter was Harry Connick Jr's performance on the show was better than hers. She needs to get rid of the new romantics meets Michael Jackson's "Thriller" performance style. It really didn't do justice to the song. She could have done something different. I mean it would be cute if Lady Gaga came out in a horrid-style American prom dress and sand a song alone in front of a mic. That would get headlines! Bands, step away from your overactive MySpace page. Here's how to get your band listed on our site.

These posters were set to promote Brittany Murphy's movie, "Deadline", but after her unfortunate death , it's coming across as insensitive. As you may know, Brittany was found by her mother in the shower on December 20th. DVD company Redbox are scattering to have these posters taken down from their 19,000 kiosks nationwide. As you can see, the promo poster features her looking dead in a bathtub. It's poor timing, but who could've known? They expect [...]

If you want raw, hyperactive, non-stop Hip Hop look no further than Tactical Thinking's 'Too Broke To Go Solo'. The group approach equates to pack mentality – with a united goal (to bruise your ear canal) this collective of artists hit hard. 17 tracks, 1 hour, 6 MCs and 2 Producers plus guest spots from even more TT family members makes for a relentless audio assault. Opener 'Dusk 'Til Dawn' embodies the whole album in one track – this is their war cry. With sometimes cheeky lyrics, sometimes downright dirty it's hard not to faux-screwface and get down [...]
I've been onto the Tactical Thinking crew for a few years now and have been waiting for their first proper release. The time has come, well it will have late August. Not content with fitting into any mould TT have opted to break onto the scene with some dirty electronica styled Hip Hop. Don't let that put you off though - the crew consists of some of the most classically trained MC in the country – you should see them freestyle. Lead track 'Superstars' laughs in the face of heat magazine and its unsecure, obsessive readership - check [...]
This student-animation project using post its, which took something like six months to film, has been floating around the tubes for a few days now. Ancient in internet terms. But it's still pretty cool. And since things weren't happening yesterday, I'm sorta cleaning out the coffers.
To celebrate their 5th anniversary Los Angeles clothing brand The Hundreds has teamed up with 5 streetwear brands for some collaborative t-shirts dropping February 26th. Designs have been created by 10Deep, Crooks & Castles, Diamond Supply Co., King Stampede and Deadline.

I like watching bands get better. And from these earlier posts , you can see that I've been watching this 5-piece band from Hamilton (with songs about factories) grow into a powerhouse live band with a great album to back it up. Charlemagne became Arkells and Arkells have come into their own. This year the band signed a deal with Dine Alone Records ( City and Colour, Attack In Black ) and it seems to have steered the band in the right direction. [...]
