Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying. While there aren't any strict definitions as to what constitutes downtempo, it's generally known as slower, ambient-driven electronic music. This week features an assortment of downtempo productions with two impeccable originals from Andrew Bayer , a rework of "Move For Me," X3SR's remix of "Breathe," and an original from Kastle . [...]
Granting us permission to be taken into their early morning texture of sound, Will & Brad Boswell (as Embus-E ) have conceived an array of differently pitched numbers which name checks bases from Deadmau5 to Dr. Dre. Leading from the front with a profound passage of bass on their bootleg of Deadmau5 & Kaskade’s ‘I Remember,’ ‘FunkPower’ looks into the eye of their side project of So-Low (alongside Animosity ) which has a mystic of 70’s icon Shaft about it. Their remix of ‘Talkin’ Bout Money’ directs its anger at all money-oriented interviewees and [...]

GLT presents the third volume of the chillstep/luvstep/luvtrap/liqu id dnb series. As usual, we have a gorgeous selection of tracks that have woven together the best of high and low frequency sounds to put you into a daytime daze. Don't be surprised as your heart-strings are plucked and played with, whether it be the melodies, the vocals, or the percussion work that has received careful focus and attention by artists such as Rameses B , Tritonal , and the one and only Minnesota . We've also included a special feature section of Above & Beyond remixes [...]

This August 3rd and 4th Canada's largest city is playing host to another year of an amazing music festival, The Veld. These amazing musicians will play alongside whole host of supporters that leave little room for complaint. Idealistic, is when you ultimately think that the short term will benefit you more than the long term. Idealistic, is when you spend most of the time wanting to give up a thing, but spend the other part of the time doing it. Idealistic, is having the urge to go forward in life, but end up [...]
Mega chilled vibes on this remix. Elliot Berger takes us on a much more relaxed interpretation of Deadmau5 and Kaskade's famous 'I Remember', using beautiful chillstep chords. So perfect for studying to.

We were introduced to dubstep/electro artist Redial 9 months ago, with his stunning remix of Deadmau52s 'Strobe'. This producer from Sydney, Australia, boasts a flurry of noteworthy releases since then, but this recent remix of a classic bedroom anthem has caught our attention with a fierce grip. Admittedly, it's hard to go wrong with a remix of a track with such breathtaking vocals, but Redial clearly adds value of his own to this 2008 Kaskade & Deadmau5 collaboration (rather than just free-riding off the success of original). Lavishing the track with a sultry bassline to [...]

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great Saturday so far and welcome to another edition of Robot Music. Starting off today is the UK dubstep artist Lets Be Friends with a banger called "The Creator" that many say sounds familiar to Knife Party's "Bonfire". So I decided to give you all both and let you decide. Next up we have a filthy tune from Filthzilla , yes I got real creative there, that features the [...]
![[Mega Playlist] Ultra 2013 Preview](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4753330_lg.jpg)
At the turn of the year, there's always a few things we get excited for. There's always the excitement of new Music Ninja programs we're launching, plans of grandeur for the upcoming year, new album releases, and of course, music festivals. We're just out of the gate for 2013, and we have to say, we're really stoked for what lies ahead. First up on our list of festivals is the largest electronica festival in North America. The setting is perfect, as Miami is already a hub for the scene. But when you take the party outside, onto Bayfront [...]
[top_post_splash num="16"] The rise of trap music from the underground to mass appeal is quite fascinating. With its roots in Dirty South rap, trap was already a familiar sound with the youth of America and as it grew more popular we saw it mingle with other EDM genres like moombahton, big room house, and even hardstyle. This chart showcases the genre's leading pioneers that carved out its evolution in 2012. [/top_post_splash] [top_post num="15" title="deadmau5 & Kaskade - Trap For Me (Van Toth Remix)" track_id="6122" image=" http://lessthan3.com/blog/wp-c ontent/uploads/2013/01/15.-van -toth-trap-for-me-lessthan3.jp g"] Kicking off our chart and revealing [...]

2012 has been an exciting year for dance music, the scene has grown beyond any of our comprehensions, supplanting itself in popular culture, fueling the soundtrack of commercials, sitcoms, and even a Disney movie - shaking the foundation popular culture by establishing a new wave of music consumer. At the forefront of everything have been the artists, the true pioneers of the electronic dance music wave. With a scene as large and expansive as EDM, it was hard to honor only 50 – for every David Guetta or Calvin Harris there are droves of aspiring bedroom producers all doing their [...]

Everyday my belief that Hip Hop will invade every popular genre in music gets further confirmed. Young Florida rapper, Will Brennan, recently signed to Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Records and put out More Perfect Union to mark the big move. He's no stranger to EDM production as he goes in on heavy hitting producers Heroes x Villains, Zeds Dead, Deadmau5, Pretty Lights, Araabmuzik, and others. More than half of the songs have been repurposed from prior projects, either the verses or the choruses, and not always to his benefit. This EP is a perfect on-the-way-to-the-club mixtape. [...]
![[Future Screw] Kaskade & Deadmau5 – Move For Me (†Ɍïɭɭ $С∅†† ӇÈЯ∅N Edit)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4692263_lg.jpg)
There seems to be some sort genre branching of Trap music into this half time 55 bpm sound as if there is a resurrection of deep south chopped & screwed. Bedroom producers out there are trying to push the envelope and hopefully strike gold with a new sound that catches people's attention. Have a listen to the track below and let us know what you think. Shouts DBDC
Kaskade and Deadmau52s "Move for Me" is quite possibly Kaskade's most recognizable vocal. Haley Gibby's enchanting, yearning lyrics have seduced many a young rave attendee over the years. For this week's Kaskade Mashup Monday , Kaskade pairs the magnetically alluring vocal with Swanky Tunes' and Matisse & Sadko's acidy, progressive house gem "The Legend." In typical Kaskade fashion, the combination is clean and enticing. It's hard to do wrong with a track as amazing and timeless as "Move for Me." Grab the mashup for free from SoundCloud . With the whitewash of 'EDM' into mainstream America has come the perching of once relatively new-school Dance Producers into celebrity status. It shows with this years nominations filled with relatively youngin's Skrillex, Steve Aoki and Deadmau5 with some glimpses of the 'good' with Chemical Brothers up for a nom' with 'Don't Think' and Kaskades 'Fire & Ice'. In all honesty none of these records really stood out for me in the past year, nor many other releases... in my mind Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs 'Trouble' was up there, as was Hot Chips 'In Our Heads' [...]
Dance music's presence in last year's Grammy awards was undeniable, marking the first time a DJ had been nominated for the Best New Artist category. The DJs and producers who were big in our world had finally crossed over into mainstream relevance by way of Skrillex's five nominations and three wins . This year, Skrillex received three nods, each in the categories he won last year. Diplo's nomination for Best Producer is also an accolade that is long overdue. Only three highly-recognizable dance music artists were nominated in 2012, but this time around there's a much [...]

There's no better way to describe " Barely Breathing " than ecstatic big room house... That's exactly what this is, and Bobby Green does it just as good as the big boys. I want to draw comparisons to Kaskade , Deadmau5 , Above and Beyond and such, but that simply wouldn't be fair. This is something special all on its own. "Barely Breathing" kicks off with a triumphant one-two and quickly moves us around with a bouncy-bass and a lo-fi synth before crashing down with one of the most beautiful leads we've heard in [...]

More delicious than a Spaghetti Bolognese dish sprinkled with cheese, nine (yes, nine) versions of various above-average Deadmau5 mashlegs, bootlegs and mashups drop into our inbox like seashells shimmering on a sandy beach shore. Retelling a simple and up n’ coming roll call featuring - Grand Rapid’s Kiely Rich , Vancouver’s Michael Scott , Detroit’s Adam Berger , Philadelphia’s Tours , New York’s Seraph , Bethlehem’s Kap Slap and New Jersey’s Kastra .. seem to put Deadmau5’s originals in good hands throughout this jackin’ n’ crackin’ list (whether that involves embracing the [...]
