Deadmau52 video for his collaborative single with Gerard Way 'Professional Griefers' was published yesterday to much attention - over 300,000 views at the time this article was published. I had a watch and I'm left feeling puzzled about the video's scrolling 'news headline' area. Pauly D DJ'ing the Westminster dog show in 2038? We have another brand new music video for the single Professional Griefers by Deadmau5 featuring vocals from Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance . The video, which was directed by Paul Boyd & Jeff Ranasinghe with the help of Golden Globe and Grammy winning producer Dave Stewart ’s media and production company Weapons of Mass Entertainment , showcases a futuristic UFC fight in which humans are no longer the fighters. Deadmau5 released the video for "Professional Griefers" featuring My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way today. The track is set in a futuristic battle between Gerard and Joel as they control robotic mic3 (plural of mau5?) fighting for futuristic UFC dominance. This is one of the more elaborate EDM music videos to date. The video is said to have cost millions as one of the most expensive videos dance music has ever produced. Quite the production.

Last week you saw behind-the-scenes footage of Deadmau52s new " Professional Griefers " video, and today the full five-and-a-half minute cut has hit YouTube. The "most expensive electronic video ever" features Joel Zimmerman "fighting" Gerard Way in a good old game of robo-mouse wrestling, with thousands of screaming fans and onlookers watching from outside a giant metal dome. In what's being called the most expensive dance music video of all time , deadmau5  and My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way do battle in the UFC Octagon in the video for "Professional Griefers". The pair aren't throwing bows themselves, instead relying on ginormous, CGI "mau53 robots to dish out the knuckle sandwiches and do all the dismembering. Next week, on August 29th Deadmau5 and Gerard Way's collaboration 'Professional Griefers' will receive a video treatment with what Joel Zimmerman is billing as the "highest budget electronic music video of all time." The video above gives an on-set and behind-the-scenes look at the staging, concept, and some of the CGI that has gone in to the visual accompaniment to one of the year's electro anthems. With the release of   The Veldt EP yesterday, Deadmau5 wastes no time in releasing an animated video for the title track. The video starts off with two kids walking through a door, onto" the Veld," an open, uncultivated country or grassland in southern Africa. The two then venture through this grassland, climbing and running around in a manner that gives us flashbacks to The Lion King . Apparently if you actually read "The Veldt" which is a short story by the late Ray Bradbury, it makes a lot more sense. [...]

Since he doesn't spend much time practicing for his concerts , Deadmau5 clearly has plenty of time to read. That would explain the creation of "The Veldt", a tune inspired by the eponymous Ray Bradbury short story about two children named Peter and Wendy who become obsessed with virtual reality and freeing themselves of their real-world burdens. Today, a surprising turn of events took place within the music blog circuit and the EDM community. Renowned Swedish house producer Avicii's follow-up single to last year's ubiquitous anthem "Levels" was named  'Best New Track'  by the governing force in indie music, Pitchfork. With the exception of their recent  Skrillex interview , this is the first time Pitchfork has  favourably acknowledged "mainstream" electronica.While they were early supporters of  electronic artists such as   James Blake , SBTRKT , Grimes , and Rustie , up until now, Pitchfork has been quite ignorant towards the more accessible [...]

Instead of posting actual music videos, I thought I would share some music-related videos that premiered over the month of April. Throughout April, the Beastie Boys released their 30 minute movie featuring a list of well-known celebrity cameos to promote their latest album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two which will be released on May 3rd. Then the surprising trailer of  Revenge of the Synth that will be the sequel to  The Electro Wars . And recently, Nardwuar interviewed Lil Wayne in Vancouver, that is a must watch.

On April 12th, the Foo Fighters will be releasing their eighth studio effort  Wasting Light. Below, we have the music video for the first single from the album, "Rope," which gives off an Apple (iPod, iPad, iWhatever) commercial vibe. Hit play and see what we mean.
