So sayeth Deadmau5 , the Canadian superstar DJ/producer also known as Joel Zimmerman who is not only up for three Grammy Awards at this year's ceremony -- including Best Dance/Electronica Album for '4x4=12,' Best Dance Recording for 'Raise Your Weapon' and Best Remixed Recording, [...]
Chris Lake's Rising Music label returns to business following the success of Taurus & Vaggeli's smash EP, Transporter. This time around it's a debut for the label as the LA duo No Body team up with Deth Hertz. Together they deliver an extraordinary track OUT TODAY titled 'Ready 2 Fly'. The song features "mellow and meaningful piano [...]

The Grammys are this Sunday and if memory serves me right, the general sentiment is kind of "blah" compared to previous years. It use to be an honor to perform, but now you have artists declining (Bon Iver) the opportunity. Adele will win > 2 Grammys and the Beach Boys playing with Foster the People smells kind of desperate. Who knows, Katy Perry might actually go home with an award or Skrillex might be selected as Best New Artist? Kaskade // Deadmau5 - Move For Me (TABS Remix) [...]

Chris Lake's Rising Music imprint has been a beacon of light for the melodic and uplifting fans with the recent feel-good EP from Taurus & Vaggeli. This time things have taken a turn as Deth Hertz and No Body team up for 'Ready 2 Fly' - an in-part piano driven, eurphoric riser and in-part drum rattler. The track has recently been championed by the one and only Deadmau5!

Just in case you needed any further evidence of EDM's mainstream success , here you go: Deadmau5 is set to perform at the Grammy's this Sunday, where he is nominated for 3 awards of his own. This is not his first time at the proverbial rodeo, however; he expertly DJed the 2010 VMA's — though this effort seems to be of a different vain. The mau5 will perform the Grammy's first-ever EDM tribute alongside David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and the Foofighters in a tent outside the venue. It's a random amalgamation of artists for sure, [...]

The 2012 Juno Award Nominees have landed with a smattering of dance acts, proving furthermore that EDM is rallying up there with the best of them while still highlighting that terrible 'pop' music still rules the roost Deadmau5 had the strongest showing with three inclusions in the 'Fan Choice', 'Artist of the Year' and 'Dance Recording of the Year' awards. Other notable mentions were Duck Sauce (Dance Recording of the Year), Junior Boys (Electronic Album of the Year) and Azari & III (Electronic Album of the Year). [...]
On Monday night we put down our books, shifted some work aside and opted to prolong our weekend by joining Alesso at the Roxy for his debut Orlando performance. Now normally when we make major decisions like that so early on in the week, there's always something to regret. However, this time I'm pleased to [...]

You guys know the Foo Fighters' single, "Rope," was remixed by Deadmau5, right? Well it looks like we're going to see that remix done live at the Grammy awards this year. Dave Grohl and the Foos will perform alongside the Mau5 as well as David Guetta and Lil' Wayne in a tribute to electronic music during the ceremony which takes place on CBS on Sunday, February 12. The performance will take place outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles. I'm not really a big fan of the remix, which you can [...]
Filed under: News , RPM , Awards Getty Images | AFP Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich had considered putting dancing/electronica music into the ceremony in the past, but could never quite figure out how to incorporate the high-energy club feel in front of a sometimes staid audience. He thinks he's figured it out this year. For the first time, the Grammy show will put the spotlight on the genre with a segment [...]
This has some serious face-melt potential written all over it: The Recording Academy has announced today electronic music producer deadmau5 will perform on the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast this Sunday, February 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. He will join Foo Fighters, David Guetta, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne for a special performance, [...]
The producers of the Grammys have never been afraid to give the world fascinating, embarrassing pileups, and this year's ceremony could be a doozy. As the Associated Press reports , this Sunday's ceremony will include a vageuly ravey segment in a tent space outside the Staples Center, with 1000 fans. That's where the Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 will team up to perform a live version of Deadmau52s remix of the Foos song "Rope." And it's also where David Guetta will perform with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. Hopefully, everyone will wear clothes entirely made out of glowsticks. [...]

Dance music didn't have its own category at The Grammys until 2003, and now the little genre that could appears to have been fully embraced by the Recording Academy. The 2012 Grammy Awards will include "a special segment spotlighting dance/electornica music for the first time ever." The lineup for this special performance? Deadmau5, David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and the Foo Fighters. Wait, what? During the awards show, the five artists will perform in a tent outside the Staples Center in front of a crowd of 1,000. Grammy show producer [...]

Photo by Brad Bretz Maybe this is what Justin Vernon was referencing when explaining why Bon Iver won't be performing at the Grammys. As the Associated Press reports, this year's ceremonies will include a special electronic music segment featuring Foo Fighters, Lil Wayne, Deadmau5, Chris Brown, and David Guetta, "all performing in a tent space amid 1,000 fans." According to the AP, Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 will come together for a live remix of the former's song "Rope." Weezy, Brown, and Guetta will then follow with their own joint performance. [...]
This year's Juno Awards take place in Ottawa on 4/1, and today the nominees for their annual prizes were revealed. A lot of familiar names - Drake, Feist, Avril Lavigne - headline the nominees. Something tells me the Black Keys won't be happy with a selection or two. Two Christmas albums made the "Best Album" list, so either it was a bad year for Canadian albums or the best year for Christmas albums ever! Shatner hosts, obviously. Scan the nominees below.
