With 14 international magazine front covers to her name, numerous producer/DJ awards and 10 million You Tube views, it’s hard to believe that MAYA JANE COLES is yet to release an artist album. All that is about to change in June 2013 with the release of her debut LP 'Comfort' (I/AM/ME via Kobalt Label Services), one of the most eagerly awaited debut electronic albums in years. As a prelude to the album dropping, MAYA has chosen to release lead single "Everything" featuring Grammy Award winning Scandinavian songstress KARIN PARK [...]
Feel like I started out the day with sort of a soft touch, musically speaking, so I want to make sure you all get your dosage of rock n' roll as the day draws to a close. This sprawling track opens up gently, then blasts off with noisy discordant guitar work. Whilst Ovlov definitely exemplifies a louder edge, there's still an element of accessibility that breaks through with the delivery of the vocals. After working hard for several years, the band is finally ready to unleash Am , their [...]
Here is the new video, "Everything" from Maya Jane Coles, a 25 year old British-Japanese Producer/DJ. Maya typically takes full control of production duties on most of her music, writing, producing, mixing and engineering everything herself. On this track she is assisted by Karin Park. Her debut album, 'Comfort' is due early July.' Excellent!!! //Jesper Aubin

Dillon Hodges just released his debut full-length album, Rumspringa, but don't let that fool you into thinking he's the new kid on the block. A gifted guitar player, the singer/songwriter won 14 flat-picking competitions (some national) before he was old enough to vote. Hodges has a knack for story-telling as well, infusing raw energy and emotion into each song. His music's made quite an impact thus far: Hodges has shared the stage with The Civil Wars and Paste just listed him as on of the Top 12 [...]

I've been a fan of LA duo Classixx for many years now. Ever since their amazing summer jam of 2009 "I'll Get You" which was all the rage that summer. Since then I have had the privilege of hearing them DJ on more than a few occasions here in Miami and they always play great tunes that get the party going. Well today they are officially releasing their debut album Hanging Gardens which is available on iTunes [...]

DOWNLOAD : Free Time - I Lost Again (MP3) Melbourne native Dion Nania has been living in NYC for a couple years where he has helped out fellow Australian bands Twerps and Scott & Charlene's Wedding from time to time when not focusing on his own musical endeavor, Free Time . Now with a solid New York based version of the band, Free Time will release their eponymous debut via Underwater Peoples on May 28. Languid and bittersweet, the [...]
You can listen to that new Classixx album that I've been gabbing about for months now on NPR - one week ahead of its release on Innovative Leisure. They've already previewed "Holding On," "Borderline," and "All You're Waiting For" but much every indie dance fan's happiness, there are nine more originals where those came from. Also a bit of a surprise, they are finally releasing "I'll Get You" which has been floating around the internet since 2009. If the duo, born and bred in sunny Southern California, were [...]
What do you do if you’re the powerhouse percussionist in a Brazillian heavy metal band that’s sold in excess of ten million records and you decide you want to explore new musical possibilities? If you’re Iggor Cavalera, you up your sticks from the Sepultura drum stool, form a band called Mixhell with your DJ wife (Laima Leyton) and long time friend and fellow producer (Max Blum) and set about making hypnotic, manically driven electronic music. https://soundcloud.com/mh-2012 /mixhell-the-way/s-bkTPB As informed by subterranean European dancefloors as it is by [...]

Miami band Astari Nite has just released their new single "Pyramids" today. The track is from their forthcoming debut album produced by Steve Thompson who has worked with many big acts such as Guns & Roses, Madonna, Blondie and many others. Digging the tune! It is their most polished tune to date with a dark and gothy sound. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. For now check out the first single via the soundcloud below and if you like [...]
Sometimes all it takes is a message. A clear statement, a consequent attitude. There is a lack right here in modern music these days. A lack of consequence, concept and a certain degree of idealism. So if - from time to time - a band arrives who's willing to play things different by retaining their The post Savages - Silence Yourself appeared first on Nothing But Hope And Passion - NBHAP - Music Magazine & more .
WOODLANDS' music doesn’t sound like it would come from Sweden. It rather sounds like coming directly from an old American farm: cheery, current and exhilarating folk to which you can easily dance. A few days ago the Swedish trio released it’s self-titled debut album - recorded in Malmoe (Sweden) in only seven days. And the The post Woodlands - Woodlands appeared first on Nothing But Hope And Passion - NBHAP - Music Magazine & more .

CREEP - the female duo comprised of DJ/Producers Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard will release their debut 'Echos' LP in August with a host of refreshing features. The pair surfaced circa 2010 with a packet of witch-house inspired jams with equally moody remixes from Azarii & Three, Planningtorock and Deadboy while setting the tone for the future of RnB/Hip-Hop inspired electronic music. Skipping forward to August 11th will see a the release of a full-length filled with more features than an episode of Saturday Night Live. The first single to drop is fittingly titled "Introduction" [...]

“On Your Own (Pt. 2)” is the latest darkly comedic step towards Fryars’ debut album, which is looking increasingly like it could be filed somewhere near Autre Ne Veut in your record collection, though of course with the addition of Benjamin Garrett’s unique take on despondent pop music. There’s something brilliantly direct about the bluntness of the delivery, as a deadpan Fryars paints a rather downcast scene in which relationships are false, life is imprisonment, and everyone is ultimately unhappy. Charlie Brooker is almost certainly a fan. “Don’t matter if you’re rich, you’ll die alone” is destined to become the [...]
Though Barrett Richards has been releasing forward-thinking music under the moniker of Kastle for over three years now, Tuesday marked the release of his self-titled debut album Kastle - a 15-track odyssey of warping, vocal-driven bass music. With countless tempos represented, Kastle oscillates between slower 2-step jams and more upbeat, garage-centric productions. The culmination is an awe-inspiring first album playing off the sonic signatures of the past with a futuristic vision in mind. Having seen Kastle open for 12th Planet three years ago in Los Angeles (a strange combination in [...]
