John Roberts Fences So I finally did it. I finally did what I have been wanting to do for a very long time. I moved to New York. Brooklyn (of course). Hence why I haven’t shared any new tunes in quite some time. I am currently laying on the couch and doing one of my favorite things in the world… scouring the internet for new music to get excited about. Enter John Roberts . A New York producer I didn’t discover [...]

Following on from his first solo album ‘Journey’ , Mario Basanov is back on 10 th June with his ‘Bill EP’ on Needwant . Featuring three tracks which show the heavier and darker side to the Lithuanian producer, it’s an eclectic EP that we’re really enjoying. ‘Bill’ has a warping bass line at its core along with a hypnotic melodic and the occasional blast on a hefty foghorn, giving this track a dark and industrial feel. Compared this to ‘Tor’ , an eclectic track [...]
Amid all this talk of the great disco revival, Sharam Jey has been patiently plotting away at what he does best: that glorious middle ground between those groovy sounds and modern house music. Blessing the ranks of Sander Klienenberg’s This Is imprint alongside familiar Swiss peer Night Talk, the Bunny Tiger frontrunner drops two-tracks in the theme of twisting familiar sounds away from their comfort zones. Where “Your Heart” leads with the beats and bass with simple melodic elements, “I Wish” is where the boundaries are really broken, uniting progressive melodies, heavyset beats and deepish hallmarks for an [...]
Here is Urulu 's re-interpretation of one of his favorite Weeknd tracks "Twenty Eight." After listening to this one, having a lonely weekend doesn't sound half bad...

Mark Wells – I Love You When 40 secs hits…
Between unprecedented leaps and bounds for his global profile and the Ibiza residency to end all summer sprees, you’re unlikely to have heard any less of the name Solomun this year. Kicking off his new residency at Pacha this month, the German heavyweight returns to his own Diynamic imprint with a haunting take on his craft’s more organic ranks. A dark and sombre soundscape of low-end club fuel elevated with an emotively charged twist, the balance of melodic vocals and murky composition found in "YesNoMaybe" makes for another instant win for a man who can seemingly do no wrong as [...]

This Saturday we’re off to Victoria Park to get our groove on at Field Day London . The one day festival is playing host to a great mix of bands, producers and DJs – it’s the varied music genres and cutting edge acts signed up that really sets this festival apart and has got us super excited. On our hit list of acts we’re dying to see is the brilliant Four Tet , future garage pioneer Koreless , Daniel Avery for some acid house, Jacques Green [...]

Weval – The Most (David Douglas Remix) The original was first featured on Weval’s debut Half Age EP on Dutch imprint Atomnation. Being massive fans of both the release and the label, we were pleased to see this track getting the remix treatment from labelmate David Douglas. Start off your weekend with this burner.

Vancouver-based DJ/producer Pat Lok has been someone we've been watching since his 2011 debut EP "No Shame." Last year he was gracious enough to make an exclusive "Late and See' mix for us, featuring some of his top tracks at the time including Dublin Aunts, Disclosure and Isaac Tichauer. At this point we consider Pat to be a part of the Discobelle family so it's with great pleasure that we're writing about his latest deep house edit of Cashmere Cat's "Kiss Kiss". And oh yes it's also being offered as a free download.
Our friends over at Mixmag got the honor of releasing this collaboration of two of my favorite artists at the moment, Disclosure and Bicep . Everyone is beginning to get their paws on remixes of Disclosure's originals, like Baauer's take of "You and Me" which dropped about a week ago. Hailing from the UK, Bicep decides to follow up Baauer and throw down his deep house, funky sound on Disclosure's track. If you're expecting that UK Garage sound that [...]

‘Meta’ from Revenu has a tribal anthem feel going on then drops in a mean bassline which warps and teases its way through this bouncy house track. DPM is Digital Pirate Material a super cool blog and source of excellent material from the UK’s best pirate radio stations including Rinse FM, Nasty FM and Shoreditch Radio. Follow DPM here
I came to Sweden as a typical North American with an iPod bustling of commercial house. Swedish house to be exact. I was completely content in my mainstage ways, fueled by a little bit of naïveté and a little bit of hesitation. The underground was simply an unknown, untouched element in my progression, mostly because of my social circle and influences. My only experience with underground was a confusing, fuzzy night at Space Ibiza back when I had only begun my dance music quest. Minimal Sunday was too much of a sharp contrast from the scene I was used to, and [...]

I discovered UK producer Daniele Di Martino with his wonderful edit of Kat Frankie, he's back now with a new one for Devendra Banhart! I don't know if Banhart is still active, but this edit reminds me how much I liked his music. Daniele updates the song "Mi Negrita", by adding some deep house vibes, and keeping the lovely spanish vocals. The song is downloadable for free via Facebook. Do you like it?
