A masterful return for the New Deftones. Take off everything but your sunglasses.

Those Sacramento not-quite-nu-metal-but-they're -kinda-stuck-with-that-tag-now metallers, Deftones , have released yet another track from their forthcoming seventh studio album, Koi No Yokan . This time it's a track by the name of 'Tempest' , and as it happens, this one is the first "official single" to be taken from the album. We guess this means it'll have a full-on, proper promo video made for it at some point, but for the time being, here's the music. That's the important bit, after all. While perhaps not [...]

One of our favourite bands of all time, Deftones , have released the first taster of their forthcoming seventh studio album, Koi No Yokan , and they're giving it away for free. If you head on over to their official website , you can download 'Leathers' with absolutely no strings attached - they're not even forcing you to join their mailing list, or Like them on Facebook, or any of the usual tricks bands play when they dangle freebies in front of their fans. [...]
Poor old Frank Delgado - so often the forgotten member of Deftones. Although he's a member of the band, the fact that he wasn't "officially" a member till White Pony means that some (foolish) people out there (wrongly) regard him as a "secondary" member of Deftones. Well, this week we're going to do our bit to [...]
Deftones videos sometimes feature smokin' scene chicks (here and here), but I even dig the ones in which singer/non-actor Chino Moreno stars awkwardly (here) and the ones comprised wholly of concert footage. And I endorse the latter as an ace advertisement for Deftones' always-killer live shows and the hot Mexican emo girls who attend them. And [...]
Photo by Emily Di Frances A few days before I crossed paths with the big Deftones and Dillinger Escape Plan tour last week, Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham told me that the band has only now emerged from years of intra-band discord and label battles. It kinda blew me away to hear that "it absolutely sucked" [...]
A dude could get used to the practice of semi-annually checking in with loud alternative rockers the Deftones. That's the pattern at MetalSucks: Every other season, we pry into the personal and professional business of a band destined to be remembered as one of America's all-time greatest (srs), the post-Cobain Faith No More and canonizer [...]

Alight guys, sorry I havent posted an article in a while, but I'm here now with something I think is kinda cool and rarely gets talked about in the metal world: Groove. Some of you guys may know just how much I love a rhythm that grooves, something that just makes you want to bob your [...]
Deftones Diamond Eyes Warner Bros 04 May 2010 by Raziq Rauf It’s been three and a half years since Deftones released their compelling fifth studio album, Saturday Night Wrist. Nothing extraordinary there until you consider that their original follow-up, Eros was shelved due to a horrific car accident involving bassist, Chi Cheng. A hastily cobbled together effort, however, Diamond Eyes [...]
It’s easy to be jaded after attending a billion or so live shows, but climbing the hill up to San Manuel Amphitheatre, the site of Cypress Hill’s MetalSucks co-sponsored SmokeOut festival, I was transformed into a gawking greenhorn. (I would soon be treated like one, as well.) Behind my rib cage, calm battled with rising [...]
