Don't get me wrong people. I love making a musical discovery all on my own and plopping it here with some words. However, plucking gems from other blogs and writing about them here is just as rewarding. Grrrizz'ly recently became one of my favorites. I came home through a blizzard tonight from a double shift at work-something that's becoming an unfortunate theme in my life-and found this unflinchingly groovy song by "three teenagers from San Francisco" on the new tumblr home of the former Delicious Scopitone curator. "There's Nothing For Me Here" seamlessly ebbs and flows [...]
With the recent departure of beloved blog family Delicious Scopitone we thought it apt to pay some tribute for all the amazing things and amazing attitude they carried with them. Above is of course another life altering motion collage by the one and only Nathaniel Whitcomb for an amazing Mutual Benefit song paying tribute. Reblog: verb/re/verb and Krista And The Whale Present: Novateur – A Delicious Scopitone Tribute ~ verbreverb Collage by Eloise, Photography by Krista: A few weeks ago the prolific Delicious Scopitone announced that they would be ending their innovative endeavors. For all, Delicious Scopitone has introduced us to artists through innate progressive intuition as visionaries and remarkably stunning writers. To which we feel their work should be [...]
Last week one of the bestest and bestest of music blogs called it a day. This Swiss blog Delicious Scopitone were apparently having some internal conflicts that caused them to disband and just last week they shut up shop. Before that though they did a little visual dedication to Philly's Sweet Lights and in turn Sweet Lights recorded the below song for DS , instantly reminding of some of the more trippy and repetitive Beatles songs. You know you've made it as a blogger when an artist writes a song about you , [...]

Two new songs from New Jersey's Slow Animal , taken from a cassette-released EP on Trivial Pursuit. Previously featured on the site back in July with five buzz-filled, Lo-Fi-driven summer noise-jams, these are the first new tunes in a few months and can be heard along with four other songs, all previously released for free that can be heard here. It's good to know they're writing and recording some new tunes so maybe an LP is in the wings. One can only hope, but in the meantime, cop that cassette , [...]

Everyone enjoys music differently whether it be in the car, stoned on the couch, at the gym, or in a cafe. In this process of experiencing someone's creation, we are manifesting our own desires and fears as we listen. This is why music is so important. It is a cathartic process that everyone experiences and takes from whether they know it or not. Thanks to Delicious Scopitone , I have found something that is going to define the next era of my life. How To Dress Well (HTDW) have been appearing all [...]
His Clancyness – "Summer Majestic" from Jamie Harley on Vimeo . Although this track is not from his latest release, Mirror Universe has Always Mist available right now (limited to 100). His Clancyness - Summer Majestic [via Delicious Scopitone ]

I was originally made familiar with Emily Friedlander through Visitation Rites fame and it only makes sense that her project with LA BIG VIC is as vast and colorful as her writings. "HEYO (Silver Morning)" is a light, airy musing that clocks in at a mind-altering 5:51 and effortlessly paints the most vivid soundscape. The trio has been recording for almost a year and while their myspace lists their label home at Whip Records, I just can't see their tunes paired with David Landon (just sayin'). I've been swooning over Arches ever since Delicious Scopitione featured "Comin' Back Again" on their Ecstatic Winter compilation (highly recommended). They sent over a few other tracks the other day, and the feeling remains the same. Remaining a duo until their exodus to the East Coast to reunite with their full band, check for releases and live performances sometime this Summer. And for our very first post of the decade...(drumroll) I'll be tipping my hat to Delicious Scopitone for pointing me to San Francisco's Fiveng . The solo bedroom pop project of Christopher Ng carries that oh-so-familiar sound of just a dude and his laptop, but there's something comfortably surrounding underlying here that draws me in. Both "Jonah" and "Skin" are uplifting and just what I need to help me recover while I'm still sweating out booze from NYE. Fiveng - Jonah Fiveng - Skin
Huge thanks to the consistent Delicious Scopitone for keeping us hip to this new video from Reading Rainbow . "New Safety" can be found on Mystical Participation and if we haven't already made it absolutely apparent how much we dig this LP, this is only more reinforcement.
