Heading to Detroit next weekend for Movement Electronic Music Festival? Get in the deep mindset with a promo mix from the very wonderful Laura Jones . 2012 was undoubtedly a break out year for the Leftroom devotee, but 2013 will certainly be her year to shine. She exploded into the public consciousness with "Love In Me," and since then it's rumored her DJ set at the opening party for Circoloco in Ibiza stunned an entire energetic main room. Although she's relatively new to the scene, her depth of knowledge and maturity in production is respectable, almost head-scratchingly amazing at [...]

The strings in this tune have been in my head, so why not. If you're unfamiliar with "Don't Go", it's arguably the best track off Justin Martin 's debut full length Ghettos & Gardens . Check out VonStroke closing his DEMF set with the Leroy Peppers remix above or the vastly superior original mix below. Justin Martin - Don't Go ( buy )

Kevin Saunderson and his childhood friends Derrick May and Juan Atkins — better known as the Belleville Three — took dance music into the future in the '80s, using technology to create, define and popularize techno around the world. Little did they realize that their sonic experiments would launch one of the greatest and longest lasting youth movements the world has ever seen. To say that today's beatmakers owe a debt of gratitude is perhaps too great of an understatement. Where Atkins and May hovered close to the underground, Saunderson's scope went wider thanks to crafting crossover classics [...]

This week's podcast features Californian techno warrior Drumcell (Moe Espinosa). Rising Kentucky (?) dubstep star Figure certainly didn't let his more isolated location in the states bring him down-he is now one of the US dubstep "it" boys of the moment. Recently, Conquistador caught up with the man otherwise known as Josh Gard at Detroit Electronic Music Festival, possibly his biggest gig to date, to chat with him about his dubstep, electro, and drum'n'bass influences. Check out our video interview below! As an added bonus, check out Figure's buddy Calvertron's remix of Figure's newest release on Heavy Artillery, Retarded [...]
