No slouch on the tactical research department, The AIU came across some excellent resources to look over before the next time you hop in a jet. Links, Video, and Comments after the jump. http://www.combataircraft.com/ en/Tactics/ http://www.flightsimbooks.com/ gunship/ http://www.simhq.com/_air/ There are obviously more resources on the topic out there, but the top link is highly recommended, they've got [...]
Things are starting to get a little hectic. Between the trying to get everything prepared for a cross-country move and the fact that I work in a bar in a city that's about to host the Super Bowl causing me to have one day off in the next two weeks has me more than a [...]

The familiar tap, tap, tap of the drum and then an explosion of guitar begin "Jungle Song" by The N'ere Dowells. They sent over their three track demo and I have to say it's pretty impressive. This track has a romantic quality to it's sound as it is continually washed over with layers of instrumentation and vocal reverb. "Anabel" and "Spend Time" round out the three track demo, with "Anabel" and it's ballad-like structure taking the cake as my favorite track of the trio. The track works effortlessly both soft and loud, crescendos coming everywhere they need to [...]
Here is a demo titled 'Open Eyes' from The xx that was put on YouTube back on December 24th, 2011. Just a small piece of the puzzle as to what the new xx album will sound like. They still have that haunting, mysterious vibe as they showed on their outstanding debut album. The new album has to be close to the top on every one's most anticipated albums of 2012.

The cover for the Soft Effects vinyl 10" We're always stoked when Spoon drops a new track in their "Bonus" section, but this month we were particularly thrilled. Culled from the demo sessions for one of our favorite Spoon records, the Soft Effects EP, the demo for "I Could See The Dude" is a real treat. Much like the final studio track, the demo is built around a looped guitar riff overlaid on a bass line that manages to craft the song's chord changes all [...]
Here is the fifth installment so far from the 1986 demo tape. All songs were recorded at Abingdon School, and feature Radiohead in the early years when they went by the name 'On A Friday'. We may have never got that King of Limbs Part 2 album but we certainly have gotten some additional Radiohead tracks since that release.

The Brooklyn artist posts new demo.

1986 demo from when they were called On A Friday hits the web.

top of the late morning! admittedly, other than the obvious i dont know much about buddy holly or his music, but i ran across this collection of demos that were recorded in his apartment shortly before his untimely death in 1959. i still havent listened to the entire thing, but its definitely an interesting listen. all apologies, i dont have a zip of this, but if you have firefox or chrome you can find extensions that will download them all. just make sure your on the single post page, and not on the front page cause then it will download [...]

I got 5 years, what a surprise! ' Five Years ', Bowie's opening track on the Ziggy album ends with that afore-mentioned refrain. But you knew that already. You might also know that Plain Or Pan has now been going for 5 years. Or you might not. Either way, thanks for visiting time and time again. Whether you're one of the few who choose to 'follow this blog' or you're one of those misguided creeps who ended up here via Google after searching for ' Teenage Fanny ' and got the Bellshill Beach Boys instead, those visits [...]

Without ever raising their voice above a whisper, without ever pushing their tempo past easy, The XX manage to deliver emotionally charged and romantically urgent music. It's as if they want the release, to communicate their frustrations with life's unfulfilled promises, but know that they have to keep their voices down so as not to wake some sleeping lover in the next room. And that's what defines The XX-a desperation for answers in the middle of the night that can't wait till morning. On "Open Eyes", it's just Romy Madley Croft's voice and the usual nocturnal ambiance of the XX, [...]

POne of the more anticipated albums on pretty much everybody's list for 2012 is The XX's follow-up to their flawless debut album. They gave the world something to wet their tongue with over the Christmas weekend by releasing a demo of the track Open Eyes . They have stated their desire to have the new album out ahead of their festival dates which, as of now, are starting in May. The band is documenting the progress of the album at their blog . Grab the song below. [...]
