Green Day – “Stay The Night”

Green Day – “Stay The Night” I don't know if you guys will agree or not, but I frickin' love Green Day . Their music just plain does it for me. Unpretentious, wonderful, upbeat, pop-punk. They love creating music, and I love listening to their creations. The guys will be releasing multiple new albums in the coming year, Uno , Dos , and Tres . If all the material they've been able to amass is as good as the first few new songs floating around, good gravy... Be ready for an amazing experience. Uno is out 9/25. Go buy it. [...]

Wild Nothing – “Paradise”

Wild Nothing – “Paradise” Jack Tatum and co are back with a new album this month.  Nocturne is apparently based on the lunar cycle, which I find to be a pretty neat idea. I'm hoping for lots of the echoing, synth-laden sound showcased on "Paradise", and I'm sure the boys will not disappoint. The album is out 8/26, check out the link below for tour dates etc. Peace. Deuce is rock's breakout artist of 2012 + breaking ground with Twitter's new technology Chirpify

Deuce is rock's breakout artist of 2012 + breaking ground with Twitter's new technology Chirpify Rock's biggest underdog, Deuce has become the genre's breakout artist of 2012. "America" - the lead single off of Deuce's debut album Nine Lives , which Revolver Magazine proclaims is "A slick, nasty record that sounds like Eminem fronting Linkin Park" - is the #2 most selling rock track of the year thus far, second only to multi-platinum band Shinedown . The hit track landed Deuce a headlining slot on the Jagermeister stage for the upcoming Uproar tour, beating out several established [...]

name your price: Night Drops, by Indian Wells

name your price: Night Drops, by Indian Wells For those readers who think electronic music is a racket, you might stop reading now. To wit: Indian Wells , the Italian "tennistronic" outfit, whose roster lists Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, and Andrè Agassi, among many others. Within ten seconds of album opener "Wimbledon 19803 you'll see what they're up to: tennis ball percussion, commentary samples, well-mannered applause, and a touch of synthesizer for flavor. The title track creates a glitchy net of loops, underspins and volleys. Our favorite service is "Deuce." Slower, murkier, best of three. Game point. Artist [...]

Purity Ring – “Fineshrine”

Purity Ring – “Fineshrine” I featured something from Purity Ring not too long ago. Here's another track off their upcoming album,  Shrines (7/24), that I'm relatively certain you're going to enjoy. Great female vocals are complimented by some unique production. I like the use of echoes and reverb to make the song sound extremely deep. Check out that album, and make sure to keep tabs on MTIB, we have plenty of cool content coming soon! Peace. MP3 |   Purity Ring - "Fineshrine"   |   Support The Artist -Deuce

The Darlingtons – “Everything”

The Darlingtons – “Everything” I brought you guys something from The Darlingtons a while back, and, as I recall, I was totally stoked on them. Turns out my stokage was well-placed. Their debut album,  Decades Dance , is out now, and it sounds frickin fantastic. The song I've got for you today, "Everything", boasts driving guitar, heavy percussion, as well as very cool arena-rock-esque vocals and harmonies. Definitely check these guys out. They will be all over the place before you know it. Support The Artist -Deuce

MTIB Video Review – The Tallest Man on Earth

MTIB Video Review – The Tallest Man on Earth The Tallest Man on Earth's latest album, There's No Leaving Now , is honest, genuine and all-around a great bit of folk music. Join Chuck and Deuce as they take a  look at the inner workings of the album, try to discern meaning from its lyrics, and discuss if The Tallest Man on Earth is really anything more than a "Swedish Bob Dylan."  There's No Leaving Now is available NOW.

The Brothers Vinyl – “Young Guns”

The Brothers Vinyl – “Young Guns” Here's one from an up and coming Austin, TX band called The Brothers Vinyl . In his email to me, Josh Drew says that they just finished recording their first EP; I must admit I was surprised by the production quality. Normally a first EP is a low budget affair (we hear plenty of these via MTIB email...), but this was altogether different. The instrumentation is tightly knit, the vocals and harmonies work well, and the song itself boasts a great enthusiasm. Definitely check these guys out! Norah Jones – “Say Goodbye”

Norah Jones – “Say Goodbye” This isn't Norah Jones . Not the piano playing, quiet music making songstress. No no no,  this is something new and awesomer. The signature smoky vocals shine through, but a more produced sound takes  Little Broken Hearts  to places I never dreamed Jones would stray. So who produced this Norah Jones-paradigm breaking album? Danger Mouse . Everything this man touches just plain works.  Seriously can't get enough of the album, and "Say Goodbye" is a perfect example of the new, Danger Mouse infused Norah. Listen to it. Buy the album. Make your life awesomer. [...]

Perfume Genius – “Rusty Chains”

Perfume Genius – “Rusty Chains” Here's a bonus track that Perfume Genius decided to release from his newest album,  Put Your Back N 2 It . His description kinda sets the tone for what you're about to hear: “It’s a song for a man whose lover has died. He remembers a time, before his partner took sick, where everything felt safe and endless. He asks to be taken next, so they can be together again.” Very sad stuff, indeed. I really enjoy the song, though, despite its somber style.  I like insightful, emotional, well-written lyrics, and this track has it in [...]

Electric Guest – “Troubleman”

Electric Guest – “Troubleman” Good ol' Chuck Ryan brought us  Electric Guest  earlier on this year, but folks, there's much more to hear. This subtle neo-soul totally does it for me. It reminds me a lot of The Shins , and, well, if you know me at all you know I lurv James Mercer . Additionally, and this has me very excited about Mondo , Dangermouse is producing. I basically love everything he's ever done, so I have high expectations. Additionally, I realize this song is like 8 minutes long, but I honestly don't mind. It's fresh. The vocals are [...]

Not Squares – “Fall Far”

Not Squares – “Fall Far” Things have been very busy in Deuceville, USA these last 10 days. Maybe some of you have noticed, maybe not, but I haven't exactly been my regular-posting self. So, by way of apology, I'm back to bring you some funky Daft Punk style electronic wonderfulness. I hope it makes up for my ditching you for a few days. Much love broskis and broettes. un campo da tennis in copertina, il nome del più importante... un campo da tennis in copertina, il nome del più importante torneo su cemento dopo i due del Grande Slam, e per non lasciare ulteriori dubbi, un brano che si intitola Deuce (termine che indica il punteggio di 40 pari) ad anticipare la pubblicazione dell’album: Indian Wells è un progetto che si ama ancora prima di averne ascoltato la musica, e a maggior ragione dopo - l’esordio, Night Drops , uscirà per Bad Panda Records (e dunque con licenza Creative Commons) a Giugno, e il pre-order è consigliato, dato che le copie disponibili del cd [...]

Father John Misty – “Nancy From Now On”

Father John Misty – “Nancy From Now On” I heard the name long before I heard the music. Something about Father John Misty  just kinda stuck in my head, despite not having a clue what it would sound like. Now I know, and now I know why people are so stoked on Josh Tillman . The former Fleet Foxes drummer floats honeyed vocals into your brain. So much so that you almost miss the seriously philosophical and emotionally intimate lyrics. In his own words, "People who make records are afforded this assumption by the culture that their music is coming from an [...]

Ramona Falls – “Spore”

Ramona Falls – “Spore” This track has been bouncing around the internet for a while now, so some of you may have heard it. If not, then you're in for a treat. Ramona Falls  (aka Brent Knopf, formerly of Menomena ) has been on many music blog watch-lists for a while now, and the new LP, Prophet , has been receiving rave reviews from just about everyone. The blend of artistic influences demonstrated in songs like "Spore" is breathtaking. It is simultaneously intense and calm, artful and intimidating. I wish I had better words to describe it fully, but my own vocabulary [...]

Indian Wells – Deuce

So I've learned something today and I'm very exited to tell u this. Indian Wells' not only known for his sunny temperatures, juicy palms and rich people hanging out on tennis tournaments. No, there's now a far more valuable fact to know about Indian Wells . It's a solo-project by a guy who's deeply into tennis, even empty tennis courts at night. What's his genre? Tennistronic, of course! Give Indian Wells a listen on his first track " Deuce " and if u like what u hear, pre-order his debut album Night Drops , only 100 copies(CD) [...]
