By Ryan Lake May 7, 2013 Less than four months after their debut album And That , Mike Skinner ( The Streets ) & Rob Harvey ( The Music ) return as the The D.O.T with Diary . The D.O.T are a vanity project by two musicians well esteemed in their respective fields. It's apparent that both of these guys are trying new things in music, but this whole album sounds like development. If there is a finished product to arrive at, this is [...]

Only announced last week, you can now listen to and download Mmoths' remixed Diaries EP. I think it's a really strong release, even if the of the remixes are of the same track; each has its own style. The bar is set high from the outset as Belfast producer Unknown [Read more]
Diaries is one of the best collections of music released so far this year. It's so textured and rich, with plenty that will make you fall for it. And now its creator Jack 'Mmoths' Colleran has asked some friends to remix its tracks for a free EP he's releasing online [Read more]
Super-stirring satirist Jean-Philippe Delhomme, highly renowned for his Unknown Hipster Diaries, knows how to catch Maison Kitsuné’s spirit with wittiness and subtlety. For Spring-Summer 2013 season, he created a serie of illustrations highly inspired by the Californian models of our Spring-Summer 2013 lookbook: Los Angeles Venus Chelsea Schuchman and peppy preppy skater Braydon Szafranski. We already offered you a preview in two pictures, now we're [...]

Photo by Cara Robbins Heading towards the burning hot Texan sun, Cayucas are armed with their cameras as they make the long, cross country drive towards the world’s most anticipated new music showcase, SXSW. Of course, blazing heat isn’t anything that’s going to bother this bunch of Californians who are set to unleash their unique and completely irresistible sun-drenched melodies and pop-tinged tendencies upon a very fortunate Texan crowd. We asked Cayucas to document their trip, and to take [...]

Some of the greatest rock ’n’ roll stories of all time were created ‘on the road’. Iconic histories of rockstars old and new are frequently heard recounted between music fans, who fawn over the mystique and freedom that life on tour seems to inspire. Of course, musicians themselves would probably tell a different tale - one of broken vehicles, sleepless nights and bags of dirty washing. Regardless, life on tour has always and will continue to fascinate us music fans, so we decided to ask Communion Records’ Joe Banfi [...]
After a short break last Friday, let's continue on with The Kickback's SXSW Tour Video Diary, which in it's fifth day, it's nearing it's conclusion. The band stopped by the Chicago I Love You BBQ, take a dramatic time out, get a much needed massage (from a chair) and bid an emotional farewell to their manager Brian Foy before departing for Oklahoma and more. Enjoy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR_4dk WAIEY
Day three of The Kickback’s SXSW Tour Video Diary find the indie rockers smack in the middle of SXSW happenings. Rock shows in the bright Texas sun, a puppet-lead man-on-the-street segment with their “manager” Howie and a special guest cameo from Public Enemy’s Chuck D are all included. Yes, you read that correctly. Dig it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzRI85 3ozhQ
Welcome to The Kickback's SXSW Tour Video Diary: Day One. In my mind The Kickback need no introduction, but for those who havent been keeping up, they're a deliciously melodic indie rock quartet who have been kicking out crunchy sweet jams since 2009. And we've been covering them since 2010 . Like many bands in mid-March, The Kickback headed to Austin to play a number of official SXSW showcases, and they decided to document the journey via a SXSW tour video diary. This is day one, which finds the band getting loose pre-tour, [...]

Those familiar with Irish producer Jack Colleran will already know just what an intriguing talent the 19-year-old is. Having shown enough promise to warrant ringing endorsements not only from MPC fiend Gold Panda but also Brainfeeder boss Flying Lotus, it's fair to say that the phrases "stock is on the rise" and "a maturity which belies his years" will have been used anything but sparingly in relation to the Kildare man in the past year or so. Fortunately for him, Colleran happens to be very good at making music which negates such clichés. Diaries [...]

Have you ever woken from a dream, questioning whether what you'd seen had really happened? A disconnect from what is real, and what is imagined? Enter Diaries , the newest work of fast rising Irish producer MMOTHS, who at only 19, is adept at rendering reality from the lack there of. Diaries' lead track, appropriately titled "One", lulls and pulls you into a hypnotic state, with a gentle progression from simple cymbal to something much more emotionally dense. "One" feels like when the dusk meets the dark, a proposal of possibility without certainty. [...]

Hosting a festival in a Norwegian city when it's guaranteed to be snowy, icy and atmospherically a bit tricky for music fans is a brave move - but that’s what Oslo's By:Larm does year-in, year-out, to the acclaim of the festival's many fans who battle such adverse weather conditions to return to this waterside haven again and again. It’s not like one of those summer rave ups that we’ve come to associate so closely to the word ‘festival’, where girls and guys who've never listened to a record in their life don hot pants and [...]

"Anthem" is the first drop from J Dilla's latest posthumous LP The Diary . The album is set to feature production from Madlib, Nottz, Pete Rock, House Shoes, Karriem Riggins and then some. The J Dilla news just doesn't end, and I'm loving it. Earlier today, it was revealed that a "new" album made up of the producer and rapper's work from the early 2000s, titled The Diary , is soon on its way. The posthumous release will consist of entirely vocal tracks featuring Jay Dee, compared to the albums made up of Dilla beats that we've mainly heard since his death. The first taste of The Diary is the single, " Anthem ". Starting off with a verse from Dilla himself, [...]

If you haven't had the opportunity to score one of J Dilla's vinyls from his auctioned record collection, we have some good news. This spring, Dilla's Pay Jay imprint will be releasing a lost vocal album titled The Diary , that was recorded in the early 2000's. But to ease the anxiety, "Anthem," a track off the forthcoming album, is available to stream on Soundcloud . You can also pre-order "Anthem" and another track titled "Trucks," that will be available on vinyl April 15. While "Anthem" and [...]

This is real. There have been a fair amount of posthumously released Dilla tracks, some have been easy to write off, but this next compilation, titled The Diary is completely legitimate. Due to drop this spring, via Pay Jay which is now run by Dilla's estate and family, The Diary will feature rhymes and raps mixed by perennial favorites Madlib, Pete Rock, Nottz and more. Check out "Anthem" below, and get pumped.

"All These Things” is the first track to be unveiled from MMOTHS new EP “Diaries”, which drops in March via SQE.
