So, without further ado, here are some brilliant new ones including The Mountain Goats , the languid country rock of The Futurebirds , a brilliantly intense offering from Cloud Nothings , more icy electronica from Work Drugs , indie pop from Gross Magic and the psych blues rock of White Denim and lastly the insanely catchy Strokes like indie rock of The Dig . Enjoy! Download [...]

The New Yorkers in The Dig have graced us with a video and free download of their song "You're Already Gone" off of their debut Electric Toys . The song's city-like attitude calls back to The Strokes' raw sound before their more recent eletronica revelation. The Caribbean visuals, although opposite in aesthetic, do the song great justice. Catchy, catchy, catchy… Download "You're Already Gone" for free . The Dig - "You're Already Gone"

TGTF favourites the Joy Formidable will be playing a show London's HMV Forum on Friday and we thought, why not feature them and the two acts supporting them? New York's the Dig , who supported TJF on two separate tours of North America and London's Creatures of Love will be warming up the crowd before the Welsh trio take the stage. Below we've got all sorts of stuff: a live vid of the Joy Formidable performing 'Whirring' at the American [...]

This blog has gotten more hits in the past two days than it usually does in two weeks. I guess sometimes even someone like me can write something that can really connect with what people are thinking and be relevant with current trends and topics. Other times I share out-of-print songs from obscure soundtracks that no one cares about. Tonight's post is the later. Selections From the Virtuosity Original Motion Picture Soundtrack For those of you who don't remember/successfully forgot, Virtuosity [...]

The Blogophilia repost project continues... We've been busy with a lot of good submissions, and that's a good thing. It's time to take a breather. Today, we move forward with our goal of re-posting past volumes of Blogophilia due to demand. Remember, we're doing this all the way to volume 22, and then phhffttt! We're stopping there. Volumes 23-28 are currently active (zip format only for volumes 23-27), and we're making re-posted volumes available for about a week. Get 'em while you can. Blogophilia 15 [...]

Many a young lady has probably dreamed of taking a tour of Joe Jonas' bachelor pad. Now, those young ladies' dreams are coming true — sort of — thanks to the Homme Fatale's series of "Fastlife Friday" video chats promoting his upcoming LP Fastlife . In the latest installment, Taylor Swift's former squeeze introduces us to his dog, shows off his not-too-shabby Hollywood view, and even dons a kinda-creepy Guy Fawkes mask (of V For Vendetta fame) for his fans. We're not entirely sure just how speedy a life [...]
As a child, I had an obsession with dinosaurs and the prehistoric world. It likely was triggered by seeing Godzilla Vs. The Smog Monster in the theater and watching B-movies on late-night television in the '70s. It's why I still pause, as I did the other night, when I stumble upon Jurassic Park . I can't help but think that had that movie arrived a decade or so earlier, I might have ended up a paleontologist. I dug Sam Neill's style as Dr. Alan Grant. [...]

"NYC's The Dig have been playing together since childhood in Westchester County. Bonds this tight might help explain why their debut album, Electric Toys , sounds less like a rookie effort, than the polished work of an indie rock act who's been fine-tuning their sound for years" [Bio] Download "You're Already Gone" Free Music, Every Day. Well, we're just about halfway with the reposts... Today, we feature volumes 9 and 10, which were originally posted in August 2009. Volume 10 holds a special place in this blog's history, because that's when Aaron from Tsururadio offered to post the mix on his blog. That started a bit of following and it has grown ever since. Aaron's moved onto Tsuruphoto, following his passion for photography. He now has a nudie-zine featuring some edgy but tasteful art, several videos to promote the zine and Tsuruphoto, and the occasional mixtape. We owe a big thanks for his early support, and [...]
Filed under: Video of the Day Artist: The Dig Video: 'You're Already Gone' Highlight: "'You're Already Gone' video was shot in Echo Park Los Angeles with our good friend Ben Fee in one day," the Dig tell Spinner. "The fabric that we used to cover the trees attracted some aerial attention and we were circled by a police helicopter for about an hour before they decided to leave us alone, it felt like we were in a Bruce Willis movie."
