But it sure makes me feel better. Celebrate the ugly things... cause all the beauty's fucking gone SOMETIMES IT'S SIMPLE THINGS THAT MAKE IT HARD SPOILED BABY T's WITH CREDIT CARDS OVERTIME ALWAYS ON MY MIND COULD HAVE BEENS EAT AWAY INSIDE NOW PRAISE GOD AND PASS THE BOTTLE OF BEAM BECAUSE TONIGHT I CAN'T SEEM TO SAY WHAT I MEAN DON'T KNOW IF I WOULD, EVEN [...]
Had a fight with the missus. I claim that Lady Gaga is a derivative, unoriginal hack without a shred of credibility or musical worth. And that she exists only due to the short memory spans of the populace and an innate ability to rip off Madonna. And how, despite her new "hey being gay and different is cool" song is a nice sentiment, the very fact that she is allowed to pollute the status quo with her face, voice and assorted "fashionista" trends makes the "hoi polloi" that much lamer. The wife disagrees. Enough of the [...]
The Holy Mess will be exploding pretty soon, especially now that they signed with Red Scare records, but they still will remain Philadelphia's premier party band. Bringing kegs on stage with them and passing beer around, their live shows are always a good time, and their recorded stuff completely rules too.Released back in 2008, "A Briefcase Full Of Bruise" is a 7 song pop punk EP with
"This isn't what we want. This isn't what we need. This is what we can afford."
Perusing the internets in a flash of free time during the SXSW festival, I noticed something that computed awkwardly. Who is that on Alison Mosshart's t-shirt? ...

Mosh for Jesus - Dillinger 4 A vague expression and a silent motive to take this shithole by the fucking throat and then it's on our hands. And that's how the new world began. When i was younger (and this seems so long ago now it is scary) the lyrics of primarily three bands fell from a bored, daydreamy mind to the margins of my school books: Propagandhi, the Promise Ring, and Dillinger 4. Those [...]
There's certainly something about Dillinger Four that seems to be universal. Kind of like The Bouncing Souls, I've never come across anyone who didn't love these Minneapolis punks (and if not love, at the very least dig them). Most people are familiar with all of their four studio albums (four albums since 1998? C'mon dudes...) but many are unfamiliar with their EPs that they released way

It's going to be a busy spring it seems. With everyone from The Avett Brothers to Muse hitting the road, promoters will have an easy time crowding their venues. Next on the list? Ted Leo and the Pharmacists ! With an album on its way , The Brutalist Bricks (due out March 9th via Matador ), it's really no surprise Mr. Leo has decided to take his Pharmacists out for a spring jaunt. But first things first, however. Over the next few weeks, he'll be wrapping up his own solo tour over in [...]
Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive Before they were in the Hold Steady , Craig Finn and Tad Kubler were members of Lifter Puller , a rock outfit that was a fixture on the Minneapolis scene. After releasing a few albums, the post-punk quartet called it quits in 2000 but found a wider audience in the subsequent years. Thanks to renewed fan interest, Lifter Puller's entire catalogue will be reissued with bonus material and an oral history on Dec. 1, letting Hold Steady fans hear [...]

There are so many staple albums that I listen to on a regular basis, but never posted on because I always assume I already posted it back in '07 (good year). Of course you know what they say about assuming: It makes you fucking asshole.Dillinger Four's Situationist Comedy was my first introduction to D4 back in 2002, and back then, I thought it was solid, but nothing to get overly excited about.
Dillinger Four to play NXNE, Radio K makes changes & local Gays reviewed.
How much art can we take? Judging by D4's infinite appeal, plenty.
