Ever since reforming the original lineup back in 2005, Dinosaur Jr. have proven to be a huge exception to the rule that reunited bands can't recapture the old magic. Dinosaur Jr. have announced plans to play their third full-length album, 19882s ' Bug ', in its entirety when they kick off a short west coast tour later this year. The band will be joined by Henry Rollins on the upcoming tour, set to kick off December 12 in Costa Mesa, California. As the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival gets set to celebrate its 10th anniversary this June, the influential festie is taking a hybrid of what they do each year in Manchester, TN on the road with the inaugural Bonnaroo Buzz Tour . Washington D.C.-bred, Philadelphia/New York-based band the Walkmen have announced on their website a string of tour dates across America for this summer, and a free concert in New York's Central Park. In August they will play the Rotunda at New York City's Guggenheim Museum, and two days later they will share the Central Park Summer Stage with Dinosaur Jr at a free concert scheduled for August 16. No word as far as I can tell on an official tour announcement yet, but I have been noticing a few dates popping up around the US in October, so hopefully this means a full tour announcement is imminent. I am pretty pumped about Farm and would love to see him yet again this year (following TWICE at SXSW, rawk!). The Walkmen are getting on the road again. After their critically acclaimed You and Me was released last year, more tour dates should be just par for the course for The Walkmen. The band will be playing the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 19, hitting up a few US dates before returning to New York City for several unique shows. No exaggeration, Massachusetts based Dinosaur Jr.'s upcoming release, "Farm" might feature the most surreal and intriguing art I've seen in quite a while. As you can see, this fantastical scene depicts two tree monsters (ala Lord of the Rings) carrying some scantily clad women through a polluted, industrial cityscape.
