When one utters the word “reunion” in regards to rock music, it is generally met with a hefty amount of skepticism. And when a band decides to release an album after their hiatus, fans and critics cautiously await what may be a rip-off of old material, or, even worse, a lucrative scheme for more money. Luckily for Dinosaur Jr. fans such as I, we have bore witness to the holiest of reunions. With their album I Bet On Sky , the band’s third since their reunion, Dinosaur Jr. exemplifies the benefits of “gettin’ the band back together." [...]

With the third full-length LP since their reunion in '05, underground rock icons Dinosaur Jr. is doing what they usually do with the quality fans have come to expect. It's a bit more mellow than 20092s Farm , which has its ups and downs, but still very enjoyable to say the least. WATCH THE REVIEW

Dinosaur Jr. is going to round out the return to the roots of indie rock tour that has swept Nashville this summer.  We've already heard from Sebadoh , Guided By Voices , and Archers of Loaf this summer, but it is Dinosaur Jr. that really seems to aging like a fine wine.  Since reforming in 2005, the band has released Beyond and Farm , which is at least on par with peak era material.  This week comes the release of their newest record I Bet On Sky which is due out on September 18th.  NPR [...]

Watch the Corners from Dinosaur Jr With the Director Brothers, uh, directing and Tim Heidecker acting, Dinosaur Jr. delivers one of the better video concepts of this year. Where the tale here is going isn't apparent at first, but once it hits, it's wow! The ending is pretty over-the-top as well. Dig on it. Between Superchunk 's newest track and being able to see Built To Spill  and Beck  last weekend, it seems as though 902s indie rock is this summer's nostalgia. And now there's a new  Dinosaur Jr. track. Even though the lo-fi rockers have already put out two full-lengths since the band's original lineup reunited, I'm always ready for some more from these guys, as they sit atop the 902s indie rock - my personal music era - hierarchy.
