Kid Cudi played the first Myspace Secret Show of #SXSW 2013 along with Diplo and Hit Boy. Debuting a new verse from his upcoming album, Indicud , Cudi played to pretty large crowd at the Coppertank Events Center for the show that was announced only one day earlier. During the 16-track set Cudi rattled off exclusive information such as features on the new album including young guns ASAP Rocky & Kendrick Lamar, and a gratifying statement that he produced 100% of the 18-track album. While Cudi followed [...]

Welcome back, Cudder. Between the Cruel Summer standout "Creepers," the previously released "Just What I Am", and the new "King Wizard", it's apparent that Kid Cudi is back with a vengeance, and he knows it. The track's release was accompanied by a tweet from Scott Mescudi proclaiming, "mark my words, INDICUD will be the greatest album ever made. Know that I'm not lying." An empowering hook and one of the best first verses he's delivered since "Heart of a Lion" have me inclined to not temper any lofty expectations I might have [...]
Kreayshawn - Somethin 'Bout Kreay Columbia: 2012 By now you’ve heard that Kreayshawn ’s Somethin ‘Bout Kreay struggled to sell . It’d be a compliment to say that it even went wood. I can’t prove it, but I bet it sold worse than albums by NBA players not named Shaq (Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Troy Hudson, et al.) and Lil Kim’s Black Friday , aka “The One That Shut Down PayPal.” Of course, it’d be foolish to judge an album’s quality based on sales. Tha Carter IV has sold AT LEAST eight times [...]
As the summer ends and fall nears, most are packing their bags to return to their respective schools while others are left saying, "I wish I was going back to college, instead of dragging to work everyday." To help us remember the summer as its end fast approaches, here's a playlist of my favorite summertime songs - songs that represent the roller coaster of emotions caused by the hot weather, beach days, music festivals, and hot tub parties. All of those summery activities are awesome, but often times come with baggage. You know what [...]
We're only three days away from the start of Electric Zoo and all the hype is seriously starting to takeover my week. While the amount of talent that Made Event is bringing to Randall's Island in New York City in 2012 is basically unrivaled anywhere else in the world this time of year, we've decided to highlight a handful [...]

To rise above the throng of new albums hitting iTunes and shelves on September 18, Kreayshawn 's debut Somethin 'Bout Kreay will have to outsell releases by Pink , Nelly Furtado , G.O.O.D. Music , Ne-Yo , The Killers and Carly Rae Jepsen . But the feisty Oakland, California native seems up for the fight. Her just-unveiled album [...]

V-Nasty and 2 Chainz also appear.
The 2nd Annual Governors Ball Music Festival went down in style this past weekend on Randall’s Island in New York City. The two-day festival played host to nearly 50,000 people and boasted an eclectic roster split between two stages without any overlapping sets. Some of the artists on the lineup included Passion Pit, Modest Mouse, [...]

During the long workweek, I spend a good portion of my day sitting in front of a computer listening to music while I get my work on. As the weekend approaches and the minute’s stretch into hours, I catch myself gradually shifting in my seat into an awkward reclining position that almost makes it impossible to sit my body back upright. When coffee doesn’t suffice and Red Bull’s aren’t within reach, I find that it's extremely important to listen to music that will keep me energized and alert throughout the day. Today’s playlist is dedicated to this [...]

I have always been a huge fan of the duo DJs LAZRtag, I had to feature them this week when I found out that they had released an amazing mix tape six months ago on their SoundCloud page. These guys are from Los Angeles, California dealing with various record labels, and also keeping their style fresh and new by remixing music from not just one genre. The benefits from featuring a mix tape and listening to them is to hear various new tracks that you haven't discovered before. So I hope everyone enjoys this week's mixt tape by LAZRtag. [...]
Here we go again: The end of another year in music! 2010 may well be remembered as the Year of the Future (if not the Year of All Hearts - hint hint! ): A year of fembots, androids, bionic women and time-traveling adventures deep into the 22nd century. Space-age love stories and robo-dramatics colored a large portion of the year's biggest releases in pop, no doubt a response to the reign of the machine on the pop charts as synth-pop productions continued to dominate the digital airwaves in 2010. Below is the list [...]

Every now and then I come across a track that I can't stop listening to, but it takes a lot for me to repeatedly listen to a mixtape or album all day, every day. For about the past week I've been looping and raving about [...]
