Ripped from Diplo's mix series, AEIOU; 'About That Life', is a hypnotic psychedelic classic featuring the righteous vocals of Jahan Lennon formerly from Mad Decent brother band, Popo . Great one released by The Jeffrees . Cannot go wrong with this... This morning, we posted " About That Life ," the excellent and deeply uncharacteristic new song from Diplo and former PO PO member Jahan Lennon - a track more concerned with strummy psych-rock transcendence than dance-floor insanity. And we've already got the video for the song. Directors @LILINTERNET and Jack Cearnal go so heavy on hazy imagery that the video, appropriately enough, comes off looking like the acid-trip scene from a late-'60s movie. Watch it and download the track below. Read More...
Diplo and Jahan Lennon (Zeb from the now-defunct PO PO ) sit back on the laid-back psychedelic jam "About That Life," a track accented with hand percussion, acoustic guitars and very little of the usual Diplo bombast. Diplo's been working on a new solo album, so this could possibly end up on that release. Download it below. Read More...
The fifth annual Mad Decent Block Party presented by Puma took over the Delaware river waterfront in the label's hometown of Philadelphia on Saturday. Fans crowded the stage and surrounding concrete labyrinth for the free, ... read more
Brace yourselves: the dudes over at Mad Decent are gearing up for their annual Block Party and with the line-up they announced yesterday, things are definitely going to get loud, probably crazy, and certainly awesome. This year, names gracing Penn's Landing's Great Plaza include Major Lazer (of course), as well as Bonde Do Role, Riff ... Continue reading

Hot damn!! The partial lineups for Diplo and co.'s five-city encompassing Mad Decent Block Party were announced today and I'm gettin' sweaty just thinking about it. The acts will vary according to city, however, Zeds Dead, Claude VonStroke, Nadastrom, Bosco Delrey, Jacques Greene, Riton, A Tribe Called Red and BADBADNOTGOOD have been confirmed for July 28 in Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square. Whether more performers will be added or not is unclear at the moment but regardless, the above lineup will undoubtedly have people doing cartwheels a in the streets. Diplo appearance or not, the Toronto Block Party will be the most [...]

Call it the week of Po Po . The minimal Philly psychedelic punk act released its eagerly anticipated, years-in-the-making debut full length Dope Boy Magick on Mad Decent Records last Tuesday. It was warmly received in blog-land, getting enthusiastic nods from the Philly scene-watchers over at The Deli and all the way up to nationally-revered indie outpost Stereogum; Po Po's main man Zeb Malik even dropped by XPN2 last week for an appearance on DJ Eddie Austin's show Get Stoked Radio. Probably the most in-depth thing you'll find on the band is Philly Weekly's excellent [...]

Remix de Let's Get Away da banda PO PO, feito pelo Diplo. A faixa faz parte do álbum Dope Boy Magick, recém lançado pela Mad Decent.
Diplo teams with Usher on "Climax," which is too dirty for Justin Bieber to sing. It is basically a trance song, but with a delicate, tiny beat. Usher, absolutely the man you want to hear ... read more
When Po Po first showed up on the Mad Decent roster, it was a serious WTF moment. It seemed kinda weird that Diplo felt the need to sign a bunch of lanky lo-fi scuzz rockers ... read more

Moombahton is the sound of the summer, and Diplo 's Mad Decent label has definitely been the leader in bringing the genre to the masses. But Mad Decent isn't just about Moombahton, though artist Dillon Francis seems to be the big thing of the moment—the label has also supported plenty of other exciting names in electronic music, ranging from the dubstep of Rusko and Kito & Reija Lee to the reggae-inspired dancehall sounds of Major Lazer to the fidgety 8-bit sounds of Boy 8-Bit, not to mention the rest of the label's awe-inspiring roster. Expanding on the success of the Philadelphia-originated Mad Decent Block Party , the label's head honcho Diplo is taking his show on the road with subsequent events in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. In addition to a 'super-secret headliner' for every show, Mad Decent artists such as Maluca, PO PO, Bosco Delrey and Paul Devro are set to perform (with Freddie Gibbs, Kid Sister, the Deathset, Blaqstarr, Ninjasonik, Theophilus London and The Gaslamp Killer showing up at varying stops). Mad Decent Block Party: PHILADELPHIA July 31 NEW YORK August 7 LOS [...]

The fine folks over at the Chicagoist reported on Friday, July 23, that The Hideout ’s annual block party will be held this year on Saturday, August 21. While no official details have been announced yet, Pitchfork unveiled DJ/record producer Diplo’s plans to take his Mad Decent records block party on the road with stops in several cities including Chicago at - you guessed it - the Hideout on August 21. Not one to let the Juggalos have all the fun, Diplo made his own video, which [...]
Sponsored by the good people from Jelly NYC and Diesel, Mad Decent's third annual block party is happening very, very soon and it's gone so big that they've had to expand the thing to four separate parties in four cities. Every saturday from July 31 to August 21, in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and [...]

This is where I mention some of the stuff I've been listening to other that I don't usually post about. I'll run it down a bit like the Top 10, except you probably won't find Justin Bieber up against Usher. I say probably... 10. I've posted this guy before, and I must say, his sound is deteriorating a little, but this track is pretty good as a 'pop' track. It's the usual chopped-up affair from GOLD PANDA , but this [...]

Diplo isn't satisfied with captivating audiences in clubs worldwide. No, he wants to make sure that he owns all the smelly basement shows and DIY venues as well. That's right, Mad Decent is stepping into the lo-fi punk game with their latest signing. Po Po hails from Philly and plays the kind of noisy and distorted garage-rock that is all the rage these days. The band has only recorded a few demos thus far, and this is one of those demo tracks I got a hold of. What's even wilder than the signing of these [...]
Here's a video of our friends in Brick Bandits playing at this year's Mad Decent Block Party in Philadelphia. Dirty South Joe, DJ Tameil , Tim Dolla , Yahmean, Mike V, Nadus and DJ Sega represented the Brick Bandits family at the party, while Paul Devro, POPO, Bosco Delrey, Maluca, Diplo, Skerrit Bwoy, Major Lazer and Toadally Krossed Out performed in addition, representing the rest of the Mad Decent crew!
