There's a lot for Usher and Diplo to live up to after " Climax ," their breathtaking collaboration with Nico Muhly. Perhaps that track was appropriately titled, because "Go Missin'" doesn't hit the same mark. I did mention earlier this week that Usher does have a boring side and here he's leaning that way. The Valentine hits keep on coming with Usher linking back up with Electro Superproducer Diplo for his new single "Go Missin'". Just like the stellar "Climax" a year prior, Diplo's subtly rides this beat adding a few synths in between as Mr. Raymond gets into his playa zone. Another incredibly produced track by Diplo , this time for English singer Alex Clare .. and a dubstep MONSTER of a track at that. He teamed up with Switch (Past member of Major Lazer) for the production and it blends organic sounds like the drum stick clanking and a HUGE bass wobbles, with Alex Clare's incredible voice powering the track. Snoop Lion, aka Snoop Dogg, makes an interesting move trying his hand at a straight reggae track. I feel like he pulls it off alright, but what really stood out to me was the Diplo production. Always versatile, the Philly-based artist displays his electronic, islandy Major Lazer sound on this one. Few producers can match the minimal, but incredibly intricate style of Diplo. Along with this single, Snoop Lion announces his upcoming album, Reincarnated . The Doggfather sending good vibrations at a time when we could all use some.
Now apart of the Mad Decent family Paper Diamond takes his stab at Usher and label head Diplo's hit "Climax. He gives the track a fusion of his chilled out hip-hop beat music swag.. with some moombahton influence. Earlier this week, hip hop trio Travis Porter released their debut studio album, From Day 1 . The boys from Decatur, GA first made a name for themselves in 2008 with Friday-night-at-the-club anthems like "Make It Rain" and "Bring It Back," so this album has definitely been a long time coming. The new standout track is Diplo -produced "Wobble" that hit hards on swag level with its nasty bass line.
